Gynecomastia, slow mind, muscle tremor, scrotum shrinking, loss of libido, extreme tiredness, shortness of breath, numbness in arms, depression, etc …
After using for 14 years finasteride and bitterly regret so I’ll try to relate my story to help other victims.
I’m surviving on the Post-Finasteride Syndrome. I’ve had a bit of everything: panic disorder, depression, low libido, neurological problems, was admitted to hospital, did dozens of tests. My life with finasteride was bad and after you stop taking the drug got worse. I spent horrible moments when stopping the medication: panic disorder, thought I was going to die, I thought I was having a Vascular Celebral attack - stroke. Felt the blood pounding in his head, the same leg without coordination, various aches and organs that I never had as prostate, breast, head on. Unbearable headaches, pains in places such as liver, stomach and others. Got sick on the street several times, I had to stop for breath, tachycardia. Difficulty reading, stumbling over words, forgetting. Heel dry, with cracks that I never had before since I’ve always had the good oily feet. Pain in the testicles, swollen after shrinking, coming during sex and really sore after hurting. In tests gave altered cholesterol and triglycerides changed. I did dozens of tests and how often I heard the Post-Finasteride Syndrome does not appear in these exams even I feel the most varied symptoms. But I will not detail these problems and much pain. I want to use this space to talk about what I’m doing to survive. Gathered tips on the internet and here on this site.
What am I doing to survive the Post-Finasteride Syndrome:
I changed my entire diet.
Not like anything that has wheat gluten as bread, cakes, pasta.
Do not take more sodas or even juices that may have industrial chemicals that do not know the effects.
But do not take milk or as derivatives. I realized when I was taking milk gynecomastia was getting worse with pain, tenderness and breast enlargement.
Treating the spent water take to control the pH and added magnesium chloride, flower salt and sodium bicarbonate until the pH was alkaline. Avoid acidic water.
'm Eating cassava starch derived from cassava as shaped cookies, biju, tapioca and others.
Not more soy consumption and to avoid maximum cooked foods with soybean oil. Fried with soy oil, no way. Even a biscuit fried in soybean oil. All this makes me sick. For frying and cooking foods use animal fat or lard. I believe that to be rich in soy female hormone was worsening my gynecomastia.
I’m eating as much as I can of coconut water. I am also eating more coconut.
Foods that are not doing me wrong: lemon, orange, pineapple, grape, banana and other fruits.
Vegetables such as lettuce, cabbage, onions, tomatoes and other did not make me sick.
When eating bread, cakes, biscuits, wheat grutem went badly: headache, dizziness, paresthesia-like symptoms, leg twitching, trembling muscles and horrible feeling that the blood passes through the veins in the neck and head - sometimes lie in pillow and listen to heartbeats. To avoid all this abandoned cafeterias and bakeries.
I tried to adapt breads and cakes with another type of flour that was not wheat or gluten had as rice flour, cassava flour. I felt a little better but the side effects are not over. So I did not eat more rice flour cakes. Now remains a doubt whether the problem is arrroz flour or yeast used since as rice every day and not feel bad. I just felt bad about the cake, rice bread.
Ate corn bread from bakery and got sick. Thought not to be wheat could eat. But it was not so. But I learned that the bakery they use the same machines and containers for preparing the masses and could have some remnant of gluten. I want to do a test to prepare a cake with rice and unleavened flour to see if I feel side effects.
I started to avoid virtually all foods that meet on the street and do not know how they were prepared. Why can not contain gluten but may have been prepared with soybean oil, a chemical that can do harm to me or milk. My diet was restricted, but the alternative was not to be suffering every day and all day.
When you stop eating wheat gluten, soybean oil, milk realized I’m having less thirst and hunger during the day. I’m not wanting to eat all day. Eat breakfast, lunch, and dine like something before bed. But without getting too hungry during the day. Also almost lost weight to 10kg.
I’m eating eggs country chicken for breakfast and feel good.
I bought dried fruits like raisins and other as an alternative to breakfast. Along with them Brazil nuts, cashews. One day I ate too much and felt bad afterwards. So now as moderately.
I am everyday trying to adjust my diet. But on a trip that did not have as avoiding food soybean oil and after dinner I started to feel sick. So concludes that soybean oil, wheat, gluten, milk and chemicals used in cakes, pastries, ice creams are bad for me.
What I know today is that to survive without experiencing many side effects have to avoid many foods. I began to seek simple, homemade food without seasoning many industrialized without industrialized beverages. So I’m living a little better and more evenly.
This is my contribution. I’m thinking of opening a webpage to show everyday and experiencing what I will give right to live with the Post-Finasteride Syndrome.
Actually finasteride ended my life but I’m fighting every day to look for alternatives to live a little better. I have been through horrible times, I wanted to give up everything, but I will not give up. What made me feel better in recent months was controlling feeding: food and drink. But I discover what makes me feel bad from the moment and feel like something evil. Everything that happens in my day so I write and find out what is good and evil.
