Any one know of any inspiring book’s on living with mental impairment due to an accident or mishap?
Looking for something inspiring to read in such a dark time with severe brain fog - cognitive impairment.
I’m sure there are no book’s on living with brain fog. Please nothing depressing, but rather uplifting. Thanks.

youtube.com/watch?v=Dmahlc6n9_A here something uplifting for ya

It isnt exactly what you are looking for but this is what will help you : try reading books on mindfulness (like john kabat zinn books) and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). Good for everyone of us here.
Also, please look into the (injectable) drug “Cerebrolysin”
It has helped tremendously with the horrid brain damage I suffered from after my fluoroquinolone intoxication (which included heavy brainfog, plus derealization/depersonalization).

How about the book about that guy who was lobotomized by his stepmother when he was 12?

I think it’s called “my lobotomy” or something like that

I have started meditation with a local group. Budhism/mindfulness has helped me tons.

thank you everyone…

i’ve been reading some father benedict groschel books lately - the catholic monk and former psychologist, and his work has been helpful in just letting go, and not worrying so much about the frightful reality you wake up to everyday.
he write’s from a ‘humble/layman’s’ every day guy perspective, and it’s really easy to relate to what he write’s on a spritual, yet very accessible level.

having hope in healing, yet not worrying about it so much if it ever does happen is a hard lesson. it’s about killing your ego.
suffering isn’t comfortable, but was it ever supposed to be? learning to let go is helpful…but hard for most.
thx everyone and please keep sharing.
