Anyone else have non-drug-induced short term recoveries along the way?

I’ve been dealing with PFS for 10 years now, although for 9 of them I didn’t realize it was PFS. In any event, I’ve yet to try a single thing to try to battle this, but am rolling up my sleeves as we speak and trying to learn as much as possible before I dive in. (I’m 36, started Propecia for a few months at 26).

In any event, I know for sure that there were a FEW days here and there in the sporadic past where my libido and erectile function fully returned. These were NOT medically induced, as I was on no medications, and were also short-lived. One was on a ski trip with my wife so there was plenty of relaxation and fresh air and exercise which may or may not have been a factor, and another was a point when I was at an extreme emotion level (the day before my wedding when I got incredibly cold feet and almost pulled out). The others don’t have anything that stands out in my mind.

In any event, I’m just wondering if any of you ahve periodically had days of your old libido and function, and if you have any theories as to why these short-term improvements occur- particularly if they are not induced by external meds (resulting in a short-term increase in sensitivity only to crash later when your system adjusts back to its new norm).

Any stories would be helpful- particularly if there were specific extreme circumstances surrounding them… Thanks!

I have had periods lasting (1-3 days maximum) where my libido and erections came back. Oddly enough, 2 of them were when I was eating shit (takeaway food late on) and drinking in high quantities. I also felt pretty close to normal way when I was on Sustain alpha. That’s all I can remember from being off the drug for a year.

I have never been close to 100 percent, but I have had two or three episodes of ‘normalsy’. One was after a stint of antibiotics for prostatitis; this lasted about a week and then after a few beers I went back. Then I had a brief stint a month ago after moving to a new city. This was abruptly stopped after NYE drinking. I know martinm has had these episodes as well. I don’t know what triggers it. I think our bodies are downregulated and we just randomly have some upregulation. I’m sure we had these when we were normal as well. They were just stretches of being extremely horny etc. Now they are just stretches of feeling somewhat ‘normal’.

shit foods perhaps high in sodium?

I have had some instances of temporary recovery/improvement. Usually they are brought on by a change in something or travel. For example I had marijuana that really improved my symptoms but I haven’t been able to fully duplicate again. I started eating chicken liver a month ago which improved many of my symptoms but then it stopped working.

I’ve been following such a line of thought for years but cannot isolate a cause that will continue to work more than a little while. Once something has worked it stops. Half of the things that caused improvement also begin to have a negative effect after the improvement has disappeared such as L-Arganine and Horny Goat Weed.

No real direction here :frowning:

I got some benefits when used vinager 1/2 or 1/3 tbs. effects started after 12 hours and remained for 3 days. I do it now only once or twice a week.

Got the same from apple cider vinegar via the Body Ecology diet. Didn’t last more than a week.

Yeah I have times of normalcy. It’s like my body has a very long refactory period of about 1-2 weeks. Depends. However, after I masturbate or have sex, I hit this crash where it takes another length of time to rebuild back up. It really varies, don’t take these statements for facts because I haven’t really tried to keep track. I’ve had times where I went a whole month or two without anything, then times where I had 3 or 4 days and i had morning erections.

It’s all very odd…

interesting you say this because cholesterol is where all these hormones that are part of this puzzle begin with, so that could have played a part.
