These are really annoying, deep and painful.
They come around all of the time, maybe in response to when my testosterone is on the rise, not sure, but they are really frustrating and painful.
Especially when I am shaving my head and I hit one…ouch
They gotta be related to fin right??? they are only around hairline areas…but why are they almost exclusively on the back of the head? I got one on the side before, but it’s almost always on the back

No, not necessarily… As much as you’re looking for reasons, you can’t blame everything on Finasteride, especially after such a long time off the drug.
See a doctor or dermatologist about this particular issue, hopefully they will have insights. Perhaps its folliculitis due to shaving your head.
I started getting those while I was taking SP for my hairloss.
I was then prescribed accutane by my dermo for this “scalp folliculitis” and started having sexual sides while on accutane.
