Has anyone seen Dr Gould in London for post-Propecia problems? He’s treated about 10 guys with long-term sides and I’d be really interested to hear from any of them. Thanks very much.
This is a really useful, well-run and informative forum.
Not sure about members here, but old members of the Yahoo Finasteride Side Effects group posted about seeing him.
If you join the old site you can do a search for his name and sift through the archives of messages.
Thanks Mew, I just joined.
Here’s another doc in the UK you might wanna check out, Dr. Minhas:
Thanks again. I’m currently thinking my problems are hormone based, so I think I need an endo and not a urologist.
Basically Gould is currently recommending I use TRT - Testogel - to raise my T levels, which have crashed to around 12nmol/L. Thanks to this forum I know about the TRT issues - fertility, shutdown of own T - but Gould says there’s a chance I could try TRT for a while and then wean off and see if my T levels stabalise.
For that reason I’m trying to collect experiences of guys who’ve tried TRT for a while. I notice a few guys around who did short courses of TRT and had some improvements (libido, errections, energy) along with problems (itchy chest, bloating, diminishing improvements after a couple of weeks). Some of these guys seem to have gone on to feel better, such as Troubledfinuser2. I’m wondering if a short course of TRT can indeed help the body reset somehow. I know that’s not what TRT usually does, but then fin has clear messed with us in such a way that we can’t really compare ourselves to most guys using TRT.
I tried TRT. It was a total disapointment. I was given every possible steroid and all my symptoms went gradualy worse with these pills. I remember some episods of extensive tachycardia while I was using Undestor. I was recovering from the TRT disaster for a few months just to return to my pre-endo condition.
My endo was not surprised that it did not help because my hormons are within physiological ranges and he actually did not expect anything from this treatment. He thinks that the problem is rather neurological but does not know what it really is.
