Had it all the time when I first quit. I believe the flood of DHT caused the prostate to swell like crazy. I eventually had a CT scan done of my prostate, and I now have 5 fairly large prostate stones which I am way too young to have.
I’ve had it for almost 4years. The first few months were the worse, now it kind of stabilized.
I’ve tried countless prostatitis treatments (LOTS of antibiotics, nerve pain management, a-blockers, TRT).
I can tell you that taking Testosterone helped the 1st time around. Nowadays not so much (I may need to fine tune my hormones). Antibiotics mostly didn’t help. Only Moxifloxacin helped while I was taking it, and I believe it was because it changed my hormone profile (really high pregnenolone for example). A-blockers make it worse, same with saw palmetto and bee pollen. I tested recently amitriptyline, diazepam, pregabalin… No effect.
I don’t know if yours is as bad as mine, for the most part I try to block it from my mind. It’s a handicap that we have compared to other people, the constant pain I mean. But you can live with it.
I’ll be looking at the progesterone/allopregnenole connection.
Think the prostate pain has burned out what I had left of a prostate and shrunk it to a tiny piece of skin and now I have no prostate pain and no more prostate spasms, just complete impotence and still getting shooting pains in the shaft of my penis throughout the day
Well, I don’t get only “prostate pain”, it’s pelvic all around. Shaft included, penile too. I even had a few weeks of testicular pain but luckily that went away.
Since I get relief when I increase TRT, I’m suspecting that these kind of pains in the area are caused by lack of androgen locally.
Before you ask, I have no idea if the explanation for that would be low T or low DHT or androgen de-sensitization or low 5a-reductase type II. I try not to theorize as much as possible. I just evaluate my response to treatments nowadays.
I’ve increased TRT and it has helped. I will try with Proviron soon I hope, and will let you know.
