anybody sequenced 5aRII?

Hey guys,

I am intersted to know if somebody has ever got its 5aRII gene sequenced?
There is one polymorphism I am aware off that renders the 5aRII 5x more active.
I wonder if people like us here have a certain polymorphism which causes these drastic effects.
For example me: Since quitting I have not lost much hair at all (and it’s been years now) and further I don’t have acne anymore that I used to have pretty much.
I could well imagine that most people here are very dependent on DHT for a lot of functions, so our body was set to this point. Interfering with it caused a lot of side effects. Whereas other people with less active 5aRII are not so dependent on DHT for overall function, hence surpression of DHT does not cause severe damage to them.
Sounds simple, but differences in acquiring side effects or not are related to the inhibition of the enzyme and the dependency on DHT for function.
Any thoughts on that?

Best regards

Nobody has been sequenced for 5AR2 yet. But Finasteride affects people differently based on genetics – 5AR2 alleles, and Androgen Receptor CAG repeats:
