Anybody ever eaten Jicama Root?

Has anybody eaten this and if so have you encountered any troubles? It’s a Mexican plant that I want to introduce to my diet for prebiotic purposes. I can’t find anything definitive on whether or not it has 5ar inhibiting properties so I’m wondering if anyone else can chime in if possible!

It is eaten a lot in Brazil and other parts of S America, and I think in West Africa too. Would be good for someone from those parts of the world who eats jicama a lot to tell us his own PFS story.

Yeah, it doesn’t sound like it’s a hugely popular food in US/UK culture unfortunately. It looks like it’d be a great edition to our diets providing it doesn’t have anti 5ar properties.
