Another way of treatment, please read it

I dont understand this line of thinking.

Newsflash: there are many folks who visit this forum for a huge laugh.

Newsflash – they think WE’RE ALL NUTS, esp those with the grandiose scientific theories to explain their limp dicks; they think we’re all a bunch of malingerers attributing imaginary causes to our sexual deficiencies; they believe we had mental issues from the get-go, proven by the fact many of us took fin when we didnt have much/any hair loss; they cite the fact that there are less than 100 active members of this site at any given time, thus making PFS an anomaly of the highest order when compared to total fin users; they laugh at the arcane scientific theories thrown around here just as much as the alternative bone soup treatments discussed by some members.

Newsflash – the bone soup discussions are not the lone credibility killers at this site.

To the skeptics (many of whom are medical experts), this whole condition is complete hogwash, starting at the homepage.

If you want to ditch the theories section, it’s your decision. But dont do so to appease outsiders, because it will in no way increase “forum credibility”. If outside perception is your directing principle for content, then you might have to shut the whole site down, because the very idea of PFS (let alone the theories to explain it), are not widely accepted by those same outsiders visiting the site.

The prime reason was already stated:

Theorizing" (opinion & belief) and arguing about said concepts is simply diverting people’s time and energy away from more productive actions which could generate real-world outcomes such as legal, medical & media awareness, which can help move our collective cause forward (instead of causing strife and in-fighting amongst our membership, as is so common in this section of the forum).

Not only that, new members or those who are easily persuaded, get emotionally invested in various threads and potentially put their health and finances at risk (see Greece prostastitis thread) with little to show for it other than less money in their bank account and further health complications. Not to mention the continued emotional ups and downs as everyone and their dog has a pet theory and tries to convince others of its validity, wasting time and energy on such things which in the end, make little difference to our collective cause as they tend to create ongoing negativity and in-fighting between forum members.

So, let’s start working working together as a team, instead of arguing over useless theories which will never be provable. Our time and energy should be directed towards contacting media, politicians, professors, researchers, lawfirms, regulatory agencies etc to get the word out about this problem, that it is a REAL problem, and that it needs to be investigated in the lab to understand the root cause(s), while petitioning the FDA to have it removed from the market entirely.

None of us are qualified nor have the diagnostic tools to conduct studies; hence the vast majority of theories will never be able to be tested or measured in the real world in the lab, to quantify exactly what is going on. This entire THEORIES subforum has thus far been littered with dead-ends and red herrings unfortunately and as such, they end up being a waste of all of our invested time, ultimately.

At the end of the day, let’s let the scientists do their job (which we are not qualified to do), while we try and generate the awareness necessary to get them interested enough in this problem to help us find real answers and hopefully, treatments. Otherwise this continued endless cycle of arguing over beliefs and opinions, trying to convince others into trying this or that based on some concocted theory, getting hopes up and down etc will continue forever, and we will be no further along.

If people put 1/10th the time & effort they do theorizing on a regular basis into contacting media, politicians, the FDA & other regulatory agencies worldwide, think about how much more we will accomplish, FASTER. As it stands, the core of this issue is simply one of misdirected focus and time investment. All the recent media/scientific/legal events that have been taking place are due to increasing global attention about our issues. Let’s continue to keep that ball rolling because it is our best bet in getting the help we need across various sectors (regulatory, medical, legal, research, media).

As mentioned, the Admins will need to discuss what actions to take and when. Nothing will probably happen in the near future but once solid scientific proof is published, things will probably change.

Thank you for saying that Mew. It’s true, take a look at the amount of activity in the theories section vs the medical/media/public awareness section. It’s incredible, judging by the amount of relative posting going on you would think everyone on this site was some sort of theoretical scientist or new age medical guru. I’ll admit I had a time when I was in there contemplatingmy own theories, and I realized quickly what was stated above, that noone screwing around on the net is going to solve this alone.

I believe it also might be at the core of what drives some member’s we haven’t seen in along time away from the site. Yes it’s nice to think they “got better” and thats why they don’t come on anymore. I know I stopped coming here for several months for 2 reasons: 1. There is a ton of negativity on this site. and 2. Probably 50% of the crap on here total is either theoretical discussion or advising someone to take a certain theoretical protocol on the Members Stories forum.

Its astounding that people spend so much time coming up with bugus ideas as opposed to actually doing anything productive. And they do hurt, like Mew said there are new members who don’t know what to do who stumble upon some of these bullshit threads, which are in my opinion a waste of time to even read but then they go and try it.

I’m not saying none of this stuff doesn’t work to some extent. But realize that things like improving your diet will make ANYONE feel better weither they have PFS or not. AND yes somethings do seem to make us get alittle bit better. I for one have seen some improvements with T3 use, but in no way advocate messing with it as its a end all cure! But ultimately this is a bandaid and time would be better spent working towards getting the word out about this condition and getting the scientific/medical/media/political worlds to take us seriously.

I sincerely apologise Broken_Pecker if it appears that way but that was not my intention. I was basically trying to help people to eat healthy – thats all.
I will take your comment on board however and will take a break from this site.

I’m absolutely fully behind Awor and Mew in progressing scientific research and i will help financially in any way i can
but in the meantime i intend to look after myself with regards to diet.

Again - apologies for any offence caused.

I was referring more to the “bee sting therapy” stuff man. Which wasn’t you?

And your taking it the wrong way, I’m not telling you guys to get off the site for awhile, I’m telling you to go over to the media section and send out some emails and make some phone calls. We are at a pivotal time right now with this issue, a lot is starting to happen but we need to people to make noise publically to bring this issue to the forefront. A Handful of others and myself are the only ones who seem to be attacking it from this angle and we need more help to get heard. Instead of thinking about how to fix the problem think about how to get attention on the problem! Then people more qualified then us with more resources will help us fix it!

Eating healthy always helps of course. Not going to cure us unfortunately.
