Amsch's Bloodwork (a quick question)

Bloodwork 3 months ON FIN:[/b]

  • estradiol: 81,6 pg/ml ( 11,6-41,2) ****

  • Testosteron: 8,01 ng/ml (2,40-8,27)

Bloodwork 3 months after quitting:

  • TSH (basal): 4,260 uU/ml (0,270-4,200) ***

  • Testosterone: 4,43 ng/ml (2,40-8,27)

  • estradiol: 29,2 pg/ml (11,6-41,2)

  • Prolactin: 12,55 ng/ml (2,10-17,70)

Bloodwork NOW (ca. 5 months after quitting)

  • TSH (basal): 2,320 uU/ml (0,270-4,200)

  • freeT4: 1,61 (0,97-1,80)

  • T-3: 130,6 (80,0 - 200,0)

  • AK gg. Thyroidea mier. Ag.: 10,3 (0,0 - 34,0)

  • testosterone: 6,91 ng/ml (2,40-8,27)

  • estradiol: 43,1 pg/ml (11,6-41,2) ***

  • Prolactin: 14,01 ng/ml (2,10-17,70)

As you see, i had a HUGE increase on estrogenes while on fin. After quitting i had some serious thryoid hormone problems. The funny thing is, i was at a doc 1 month ago and my TSH was still 4,3 (almost same as after 3 months after quitting). Now it’s 2,3. How that??

Well, as you see fortunately my testosterone raises again. However, estrogene is out of range again.

What would you tell me to do? Don’t have any serious side effects, but feeling tired/lazy pretty much. But i don’t think that this has to be linked to estradiol, maybe to TSH?

thx in advance

anyone? mew?

Yea that’s out of range high, which for men is a big problem. Look into ways to bring it down… DIM supplements, lots of cardio… drug routes include Arimidex (only under doc’s supervision).

Also starting to increase. High prolactin can kill libido. Look in Natural Treatments section for ways to decrease naturally (Vitex/Chasteberry), or consider Dopamine agonist (Bromcriptine/Cabergoline) under doc’s supervision. I recall reading somewhere Dr Shippen likes to keep prolactin between 3-5.

Hi Amsch,

My question is: how are you doing? What side effects are you experiencing, and what changes have you seen over the past 17-18 months?

Hey there, you’re right, i should’ve done that too!

I was feeling pretty good on those 4 1/2 months on propecia. I just had some slight watery semen in the first few weeks which went away.

However, after about 3 months i felt that my left breast (surprisingly just the left) was enlarged (who wonders, with this estrogene level). at first I thought i was imaginating this, so i continued. the situation got worse so i quit after 4 1/2 months.

Ok, now the question, what happened after that?

My libido was still ok, however, it goes downhill in the past months. I guess it’s the high prolactin which does this. I feel pretty tired/unmotivated all the time after propecia. The erections aren’t that good as well anymore.

What really annoys me are those dark cycles under the eyes I got. After quitting propecia I tried topicals like revivogen, so I’m not sure wether they were caused by the topicals or by quitting propecia. However, they NEVER went away.

hope that helps! greets

anyone…

Um… someone? really? mew? :frowning:

LOL mew, how did I miss your post? Currently reading it!

You basically answered your own questions in your last post, with your own reasonings why you are having problems. But to reiterate:

TSH (basal): 3,440 uU/ml (0,270-4,200)

This is starting to get pretty high. Not sure if your doctor is aware but in the USA, the standards have changed such that a TSH above 3.0 is considered suspect hypothyroidism.

clk.about.com/?zi=1/XJ&sdn=thyro … versal.htm

estradiol (E2): 44,1 pg/ml (11,6-41,2) ***
Prolactin: 18,97 ng/ml (2,10-17,70) ***

Yea, these are probably a major problem in terms of impacting your sexual function. What does your doc say about these OUT OF RANGE HIGH levels?

Your above bloodtests are probably a major contributing factor why despite having good Total & Free Testosterone levels, you are still having sexual problems and physical body changes. If you were able to get the above under control you may see improvements. Discuss with your doctor.
