The following article was released earlier this month, on the same day the New England Journal of Medicine study indicating finasteride may reduce the risk for low-grade prostate cancers was published. Along with being a far more level-headed analysis of the study’s results than what’s been seen throughout most of the media over the last few weeks, the article makes mention of finasteride side effects as a reason for not taking the drug.
“…this is a drug that can have some disturbing side effects, like breast enlargement and sexual problems among others. Not a drug that most men would want to take for an extended period of time if it might have some undesirable side effects.”

Only a quick mention, but it’s nonetheless good to see an organization with the size and reach of the American Cancer Society acknowledging at least some of the side effects so many of us here are suffering from.
