Allmost took Propecia, this is unbalivable

Hi Guys
I live in Israel. In my country Propecia is highly advertised on the Internet (major Israeli web sites), TV and radio commercials.
So i decided why not, i went to a skin doctor i knew and he said ok and gave proscription for 3 month and 25% discount (huh? because i am a nice guy).
He is a good doctor but i don’t think he is informed (or i prefer think this way about him), anyway i went to the pharmacy, luckily i was alone there and asked the pharmacist about this drug, are there any side effects? he said quietly: i heard about problem of erectile disffuctions, i said WHAT? and demanded the description paper of Propecia.There black on white was written about it, but it said that this is a temporary problem that will go away after stopping taking the drug.
I decided to talk with my girlfriend, she was amazed to hear that, i said i prefer to bald and horny toad than hairy with sleepy penis, she said if you say its happens to few people and temporary maybe give it a try, i said i will check, so i had an idea to contact the distributor in Israel about it. But than i decided lets Google this stuff and thats how i came to your site and i am shocked to hear this.
I told my girlfriend and she said its a good thing i checked and she prefer horny toad than hairy prince.

Also i talked with a baldy friend in University and he said that he got other side effect: body hair grew, and if you don’t take the pill for a week you loose all of your hair.

In Israel over 20% of males are bald or got hair problems. I think the public is misinformed about this drug and its side effects.
I think to write to a local newspapers about this, journalist love this kind of stories.

I checked the web site of distributor in Israel, and its all slick, stories of patients with good results. NOWHERE I FOUND A TEXT ABOUT SIDE EFFECTS. On foreign English website of Propecia they do state the side effect. This Scum traders in Israel are disguising the TRUTH.

Hope to hear your advice and opinion on this matter.

Yes please do. The more awareness about the longterm side effects this hormone and neurosteroid altering drug can cause for something which is purely cosmetic (hairloss), the better.

Of course, Merck will never admit to this unless there is a lawsuit which forces them to acknowledge their drug can cause permanent sexual dysfunction and other side effects.

Nor will they acknowledge half the stuff that has been found by other researchers, since their “FDA Clinical Trials” in 1997, about what the drug can do or what else it affects besides just DHT.

I’m happy for you, that you didn’t take this med and have to suffer the sides like the rest of us. I am of the opinion that everyone who takes this medication will eventually suffer some sort of side effects at some point in time if they continue to take it.

It’s like smoking cigarettes. Maybe you smoke 20 years without a problem, but it’s damaging your body and eventually it will kill you. With Propecia you may only have a slight sexual side effect at first, but the way the drug works to inhibit dht, it will cause some type of problems over time. I have read stories about guys only having anxiety and sleeping problems, but they suffer nonetheless.

The crappy thing for those of us that are suffering, is that the medical community for the most part does not believe the side effects are a wide spread problem. I believe a lot of this has to do with the nature of the problem being the absolute most embarrassing thing a man has to deal with. Most men choose to not to do anything and hope it goes away. I was one of those guys for a while.

I often wonder each week how many new men begin taking this poison each week around the world. The number of men that are using it or have has to be staggering.

I read some stories on the web site and it makes me want to cry. Young healthy man are shattered and broken by this drug. I almost got it too, and i one of those that believe science is the right way so i am in shock that my Doctor didn’t told me about side effect.
MSD is pushing Propecia in Israel in full swing. On my doctor table there is an advertisement. They got catchy song in the commercial and big banners on major Israeli web sites. I am planing to write a letter to a local TV journalist that specialize on busting corruption and maltreatment of citizens. This is totally fuckedup. If people want to take Propecia they at least know the risk.
I wish that all the guys suffering from this will get better and healthy.

Well atleast there is a website that is promoting awareness…If this site was availble and late 2002, I WOULD NOT OF TAKEN THIS DRUG. My doctor totally misrepresented this drug to me, while it was my decision, I thought coming off the drug would make side effects go away…It didnt…I was only on it for 8-9 weeks max.

Putting that aside, if isreal is going to promote it aggressively and more people take it, there will be more individuals joining this site. While is very disappointing, we are coming to isolating what this drug specifically did to us.

There are almost 10 people on here who have identially low 3 Adiol G levels which should be relatively higher for men in there 20’s. If you go to the hormone blood tests section, you will see what I’m talking about.

We are getting there, together we will figure this out.

In the next few years, I would take a look at Merck’s revenues from this drug and compare it from the last few years. If it’s downard sloping, and their patent expires, who knows they might then come forward and try to help others out and take this drug off the market, since it will not impact revenue anymore. I believe samething happen with Vioxx as well…when the patent expired, after it affected 10,000+ people, they took it off the market, and admitted it increased the risk of stroke by 2-3 x if I’m not mistaken.
