Advice on whether to use SSRIs for premature ejaculation

I want my urologist to prescribe Cialis for my erectile dysfunction. However I also suffer from bad premature ejaculation and understand that Cialis won’t help me in this area. Since SSRIs are prescribed to combat PE but can also result in worse ED issues I’m not sure what the best course of action is. Does anyone have any advice?

I was with my psych last week and she meantioned an SSRI which doesnt have any ED side effects but she said one of the possible side effects was priapism. I’ll find out the name of it on tuesday at my next appointment

personally, i would not even consider touching SSRI

How many doctors have told members on this board that finasteride does not cause persistent and debilitating side effects, usually after consulting the manufacturer’s product information insert?

Just because your doctor isn’t aware that this synthetic chemical can have ED side effects doesn’t mean it doesn’t.

I know this is old, but I’ve read somewhere (yes, the science, not just hearsay), that SSRIs are anti-androgenic. If I recall correctly, the mechanism was epigenetic. SSRIs = BAD.

Dr. Shippen told me earlier this year that I should absolutely stay away from SSRIs. His logic was that considering I reacted as harshly as I did to finasteride, that other harsh drugs like SSRIs and quinolones could very likely cause dramatic side effects as well. Prior to seeing him, I had actually already tried a quinolone and had terrible side effects after only one dosage. There’s no way I would push my luck with an SSRI.
