Administrating Propecia

I am new to this forum and apologize if this is a wrong place or repeated / stupid question (and for my english) .

I was thinking about starting administrating propecia and came across this forum while searching it's side effects. I am thankful for that but I must say, this site scared me like nothing else. I am wondering if there exists an intermediate solution like starting with mild (say 0.5 mg) doses and check for any side-effects for say 2 years. If there are no side effects, chances greatly increase that even recommended 1 mg dose won't cause any sides. And if mild dose is causing any sides, then by stopping the drug you have better chances of recovering.

I don't have much medical knowledge about this. I was about to discuss this with my doctor but thought of getting opinion from this site.

Hello,

Answer to your question (2nd post, read the link… lower dosages make no difference):

propeciahelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1105

Nobody can say wether you will have side effects from Finasteride or not, but for those that get them they can be very bad, and for others things only got worse after quitting even though they didn’t have troubles on the drug.

We are in the minority here but even so, I would not advise you to take this drug based on the multiple organs (prostate, penis, brain, liver, seminal vesicles, fertility etc) and hormones/neurosteroids it can affect.

But if you still wish to try it, and wish to change your hormonal profile to match that of a pseudohermaphrodite, nobody can stop you. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I have read many more posts form the site and have decided not to use it.
(I am a damn good computer programmer and work for R & D department of s/w company on very high salary and have no intention of screwing such a beautiful life.)

Tx a ton.

btw would you mind answering one more question not related to this site?
is Rogaine as dreadful?

Hello

I asked about the same question in my own post abit earlier, and Mew replied:

So there’s also possible side effects from rogain, but how common they are I don’t know. But as far as I know it’s not as effective as propecia in terms of a hairloss cure, and it seems to be much more work and hassle to administrate.

I’ve decided not to try any of these product. When it all comes down to it, your just fighting a losing battle. Propecia was the only thing I considered a possibility untill I myself found this forum, and decided not to take it. I truely believe that Propecia will be banned from the market in the future, when more of these cases surface.

if you are on a high salary maybe you can try hair transplant or something along that line

good luck
