A crazy idea - sleep deprivation

Hey guys, Im a long time lurker, but I just recently signed up. Anyways, I’m aware that some people here think propecia side effects may be related to gaba, lack of quality sleep, etc, anyways it gave me a really counter intuitive idea that may or may not work, but is maybe worth a try. I was wondering, has anybody tried sleep deprivation as a way to reverse side effects? I have absolutely no basis on which to support my idea, but to me it seems like something so crazy that it just might work. (or may not lol) When I get the time (currently I work part time and go to school) i’m gonna try to stay up without sleep on the order of maybe…four or five days. Thats of course assuming I can make it, but at the very least two or three. Has anybody else here ever tried anything like this?

Here’s a reply to a thread on this site that gave me the idea: “I always thought seratonin killed sex drive - 5 htp, anti depressants. This is big news to me. I have at times been horniest when i am totally sleep deprived and my body is probably trying to produce a lot of seratonin. This is very interesting.” Compliments of bluecloud87.

so don’t sleep until you actually goto sleep and having an amazing deep sleep… who knows, it’s possible… you should keep us updated on how that goes

definitely, if I ever find the time lol

I have felt better after 1-2 days without sleep. I doubt this sort of thing could cure us but there is no doubt that a lack of sleep does something great for me now that i have PFS.

Lack of sleep increases dopamine, so that might help. I always (pre fin) had an increase in libido after working night shift. Still feel a small increase now, but not as much.
