Diets rich in soy phytoestrogens have many potential health benefits but isoflavones such as genistein may suppress cell mediated immune function. The effect of dietary phytoestrogens on the host response to infection has not been extensively examined. Mice were fed a diet containing soy phytoestrogens and infected with Mycobacterium avium to establish a chronic infection and inflammatory response. As phytoestrogens may act through classical oestrogen receptors (ER), mice deficient in ERalpha signalling and wild type mice were evaluated for a panel of Type 1-associated cytokines (IFNgamma, IL-12 and IL-18) in the spleen. IFNgamma production in the spleen was increased approximately 4-fold in ERalpha-deficient mice fed a casein-based diet over wild type mice fed a casein-based diet (P < 0.05), suggesting a role for ERalpha in suppressing IFNgamma production. IL-18 levels in spleens of wild type mice were decreased compared to ERalpha-deficient mice on a casein diet. Splenic IL-12 and IL-18 levels were not affected in wild type and ERalpha-deficient mice on the phytoestrogen containing diets, with the exception that whole soy increased IL-12 levels in the tissues of ERalpha deficient mice. We conclude that ERalpha and dietary phytoestrogens can influence production of key regulatory cytokines in response to chronic bacterial infection.

If this will not lead you to start some sort of action to get to the root cause of your fatigue issues I have no other ideas how to help you.

I adress it to all of you that are reacting bedly to all forms of soy and phytosterols (hypersensitivity, alergies…etc) get your tests done. I told you before and this is something final that I came up to you with. Choice is yours.

Interesting however many here do not eat a diet rich in soy or phytoestrogens.

This is nothing new, soy & phytoestrogens are known to be estrogenic to men over the long haul.

i took the supplement beta sitosterol as a hair loss treatment 3 years back but it didn’t seem to have any effect

i did some food testing and am allergic to most additives, preservatives , cows milk products , sugars and many nuts/seeds.luckily not allergic to any grains except oat , unprocessed meats or fruit/vegetables.also i was not allergic to soy but i like to avoid it for the most part now anyway.

There is a phytosterol content present in many foods also including nuts.

If you react bedly to soy, nuts and some other foods with esrogen-like factor it is highly propably that it is due immune disfunction first.

Your immune functions are getting even worse with these compounds and may lead to the further mycobacterial invasion as a root factor. Do your work and do the tests because the more I focus on my problem the more I realise how important data they provide for the correct diagnosis.
