7 years but struggling

Hello everyone, I am from India.

I am 39 years old now, 5 ft 8 inches height and weigh 72 KGs.

I took Finasteride 1 mg/alternate days for a month.

I took the drug when I was 33 years old. I was unmarried and did not have any girlfriend then.
I suddenly stopped taking the medicine when I first felt mild adverse effects.

After 15 days I thought that the side effects might just be psychological and there was nothing to worry about.

I again started taking finasteride 1mg/daily. After exactly 4 days while I was riding my bike I felt mental fog. I also remembered that for the last 4 days I niether had erection, nor any fantasy or desire, no masterbation. I again stopped taking the medicine and this time permanently for ever.

From that moment onwards I noticed that my penis and testicles have shrinked drastically. There was no sensation in the penis, completely no erection, complete loss of desire, complete loss of sleep, mental fog, intermittent pain in the testicles, testicles had become much tender and never hang loose.

For almost 3 years I could nevert manage erection without taking any ayurvedic supplement. In the next 4 years from the onset of the side effects I merely had intercourse for maybe 20 times.

It’s been 7 years now and I am still struggling. The most prominent side effects are loose erection and lowere ejaculatory volume (sperms are there but semen is missing).

I hope to find a solution if there is any. The side effects which I have experienced are as follows.

[x] Erectile Dysfunction
[x] Complete Impotence
[x] Loss of Morning Erections
[x] Loss of Spontaneous Erections

[ ] Inability or Difficulty to Ejaculate / Orgasm

Mental

[x] Difficulty Focusing / Concentrating
[x] Confusion
[x] Memory Loss / Forgetfulness
[x] Stumbling over Words / Losing Train of Thought
[x] Slurring of Speech
[x] Lack of Motivation / Feeling Passive / Complacency

Physical

[x] Testicular Shrinkage / Loss of Fullness
[x] Genital numbness / sensitivity decrease

Misc

I have not tried any medication or therapy as on date for recovery.

So sorry to hear about your experience, I’m wishing there will be a cure

Thanks for your sympathy. I too wish there was any cure for this but unfortunately this is an irreversible condition. Atleast it is not going to reverse naturally. Medical research to find a cure will not happen because it will only strengthen the ground that this finasteride is actually a poison and Merck will not let that happen.

My heart goes out to you man. Do at least look at some of the threads on HRT. In particular, I’ve been seeing many stories recently of people improving significantly with Clomid + HCG.

I haven’t yet tried HCG as I am afraid to do anymore experiment on my body that plays with the Hormones. But I have tried home remedies, Ayurveda, Vitamins, Zinc, Exercise, Rest but the point is the main organs which is the gonads is unresponsive.
Do you know anyone who has tried DHT administration? As I recently read an authentic research article which suggests that DHT is more potent and important than Testesterone in men and we have messed up our DHT.
Here is the link https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/medicine-and-dentistry/chemical-castration#:~:text=MPA%20(medroxyprogesterone%20acetate)%20is%20the,seminal%20ejaculator%20fluid%20to%20zero.
Please read paragraph 2 of volume 1 on Androgens

Like actually injecting straight DHT? I don’t think I have. I’d think there must be a good reason such an obvious therapy hasn’t really been done too much, but perhaps you are on to something.

You are right to say that there must be a good reason for such an obvious therapy not been done. And I am not at willing to take any further risk but its just that as I keep reading I get intrigued at this thought of why not. There are DHT derived steroids used by body builders. Did you get a high quality blood panel done?

I just did and it showed double the range in Prolactin and Progesterone, waiting for E2 results.

I feel like a lot of people here do experiments shooting in the dark, which may or may not work.

People with perfect blood tests that still have the problems is a different story. But I think a lot of people would find something significant like I did if they get the right tests.

Your suggestion is valuable and I should get a thorough blood panel done. I only tested free Testesterone almost an year after I crashed and the result was within the range but just at the lower bottomline.
By the way did you find any significant solutions around your problem?

No, not yet. I am going to talk to a Doctor as soon as my E2 results come (they only do labs once a month for ultrasensitive E2 test). I’m guessing it will be high though.

I also had slight above range DHEA-S which is a positive allosteric modulator of the NMDA and a negative allosteric modulator of the GABAA and glycine receptors. This could explain my trouble getting high quality sleep.

You can see my labs in my presentation thread. My T was mid range and my SHBG was in the lower part of the range so my free T is high.

You need a full panel to get the whole overview which is why I paid for it myself (500-600$). No doctor would prescribe this many tests for me.

Hi pals,
It’s been two years since I wrote on this forum.

I wanted to share the current status and see if there is any help or suggestions.

My current status is summarised below:

  1. I still have very low ejaculation volume. In fact it is declining.
  2. Erection happens but it is not hard enough to have a pleasurable sex.
  3. Desire/libido is pretty less.
  4. Joint pain is on the rise even though the pace is slow but it is consistently on the rise.
  5. As far as I know, for a ‘Normal Man’, his testicles and prostate keep growing consistently and that is why generally in old age men experience problems associated with enlarged prostate but after the crash not only my testicles shrinked but they are no longer growing.
  6. Now the scortum hangs loose many a times like it used to before the crash which was not happening in all these years.
  7. Once in a while I get ‘Hot Flashes’.
  8. Struggling with very poor memory.
  9. My alcohol consumption is very low and very rare. It is also because my alcohol consumption capacity has reduced.
  10. As on date I have not followed any protocol, never tried viagra, not gone for any medication or treatment. This is because I thought of let the body heal naturally and also because I was too scared to try any line of treatment with possible side effects.
  11. But now I am planning to try HCG as because my Testesterone is below the minimum mark.

What is your take? I would love to know if anyone has witnessed significant improvement in their life after the crash.

I wonder that people of my age who are alcoholic are living their life to the fullest. People of my age with diabetes are having the best sex life. People in their sixties are having wonderful sex life and here I am in my forteis I don’t have a good sex life. SAD.
