I just looked up 5AR antibodies and wound up on an interesting website:
antibodyresource.com/search/ … -reductase
This website makes a list of several Anti-Type II 5-alpha reductase antibody, such as this one:
avivasysbio.com/srd5a2-antib … -p050.html
Here’s the description: This gene encodes a microsomal protein expressed at high levels in androgen-sensitive tissues such as the prostate. The encoded protein is active at acidic pH and is sensitive to the 4-azasteroid inhibitor finasteride. Deficiencies in this gene can result in male pseudohermaphroditism, specifically pseudovaginal perineoscrotal hypospadias (PPSH).
I was surprised that they mention finasteride in the description of this product ! Isn’t this a piece of the puzzle? How come they have created an anti 5AR antibody specifically designed for finasteride? And how come nobody know about this? Am I getting this right?
