Anybody tried 5a-DHP? It seems to increase allopregnanolone.
Should it work the same way as Sage217 or Ganaxolone?
Maybe worth a try.

I believe a bunch of people tried this and found it to give some variable mood benefits, but wore off after a time. Might be worth trying. It wouldn’t be the same as this is a precursor to allopregnanelone whereas the two drugs you mention are analogues (synthetic allopregnanelone), and I think one at least is adapted with a methyl group to stop it from converting back. Also, as far as I’m aware 5a-DHP is only available as a research chemical
Thank you very much axolotl. Seems you have a lot of know how.
Which way is most promising for us do you think?
I’d be more hopeful of pharmaceutical analogues than a research chemical precursor. Allopregnanelone is of course only one of the 5-alpha reduced steroids and there’s lots going on in PFS, however. I think they have preparations for chronic use so if it did provide relief and not wear off, which unfortunately happens a lot, it could be helpful, it’s just hard to guess at how much and for how long. The neurosteroids are involved in regulatory feedback in the brain so it could be significant…Certainly worth keeping a close eye on. I’d certainly try it if I can get hold of it.
I read somewhere, don’t know where that Sage217 will be a two week use like anti-biotics.
Obviously PFS is an unusual use case, but both websites mention a potential suitability for chronic use.
Yeah, unfortunately probably it will work but not for PFS - users :(
