5 years with Low T - Need help from the Pros!

Dear All,

I am trying to find a solution for my Low T. I’ve quit finasteride 5 years ago because impotence. I then had really strange things going on which i will not get into here.

It appears that after finasteride i developed subclinical hypothyroidism with my TSH going off and within limits. Note that i now know why it is futile to look at TSH levels only. Here is what my blood tests look like :

(Note : i am taking T4 for the past 3 months)

FSH 3.2 (1.0-14.0)
LH 5.1 (0.6-12.0)
TSH 1.6 (0.3-4.5) was > 4.0 for quite some time

Cholesterol 237 *******
HDL 58 (32-68)
LDL 154 (borderline high)
Triglycerides 125 (<150)

E2 16.5 (7.6-42.6)
Lp(a) 5.0 (<30.0)

Free Testosterone 7.8 (8-45 pg/ml)

For the first time i had Free Testo below low limits it was usually around 8.5 - 9.
I have found once ACTH high in the past but Cortisol was within limits (center of range).
I have found that eating cholesterol foods is better for my libido (…?)
I have also some times E2 (Estradiol) to be off limits (slightly high)but at this bloodwork it was within limits.

here are some older blood results (5 months ago)

FSH 3.8 (1.0-14.0)
LH 3.5 (0.6-12.0)
Prolactine 7.8 (2.0-17.0)
Total Testo 3.1 (2.8-8.0)
Free Testo 8.3 (8.0-45.0)
Androstendione 1.8 (0.3-3.1)
SHBG 28.6 (11.4-52.3)

What should i do next in terms of Bloodwork? Thank you for your help.

This is high, right?

Almost all hormones are made from cholesterol, which is converted to pregnenolone, which gets converted to several hormones. But your cholesterol looks high, so that is weird.

Beside what you tested, I would also test (in order of decreasing importance):
-Reverse T3
-T4
-pregnenolone
-DHEA
-progesterone
-T3

Test for 3a-diol G:

Thank you Mew and m_81,

Some more info which can probably shed more light for similar symptoms experienced by others. After quitting finasteride i got hives, had joint pains and also symptoms similar to an auto-immune disease. The marker for auto-immune diseases is ANA and this came back negative.

Ever since i have had times where i had good libido but this was on and off. The best time i remember my libido was amazing was when i had an LHRH test, this is what it looked back in 2008 (and it kept for 2 days then back to low libido) :

LHRH (FSH)

FSH 0’ 2.7 (1-14.0)
FSH 30’ 4.3
FSH 60’ 4.2

LHRH (LH)
LH 0’ 3 (0.6-12)
LH 30’ 13.5
LH 60’ 11.6

I had T3 and T4 done - actually FT3 and FT4 but forgot to put them so here is how the last blood results look like :

FT3 4.0 (3.2-6.8)
FT4 16.5 (11-23.0)
TSH 1.6 (0.3-4.5) was > 4.0 for quite some time, now taking T4 med for past 3 months
FSH 3.2 (1.0-14.0)
LH 5.1 (0.6-12.0)

Cholesterol 237 *******
HDL 58 (32-68)
LDL 154 (borderline high)
Triglycerides 125 (<150)

E2 16.5 (7.6-42.6)
Lp(a) 5.0 (<30.0)

Free Testosterone 7.8 (8-45 pg/ml).

Not sure if i can have the Adiol-G test where i am but i will have a look. I hope my endo will listen and cooperate so finders crossed!

Thanks again guys

if your ANA is negative
what about ESR?
