2 years ago I noticed that my hair is thinning and falling out, after 6 months or so I got on minoxidil, I had pretty damn good results with it but 2 months ago my hair started thinning and falling out again, so I went to my dermatologist, and asked her for finasteride, she told me about all the sides and prescribed me 5mg finasteride pills, and told me to split it in four pieces. I was happy, propecia is quite expensive and this drug costs like $8 for 30 pills. Right after I got home I took my first dose, everything was great, no problems at all, then in the night my erection was quite good, but it was hard for me to have an orgasm, it looked like this for 3 days, but then in my 4th day I started to feel extremely fatigue, I couldn’t do anything, I felt like I’m completely useless, the day after that I couldn’t get a boner at all so I stopped taking it and told myself I’m never gonna touch this poision ever again. So after only 3 doses my little guy is almost useless, I can’t have sex. Only 3 freaking pills and I’m not a man anymore. I was one of the people who think that it’s not finasteride’s fault, and it’s all in your head, that the people taking the drug were quite old, had some problems before and taking finasteride was just an excuse for their impotence. Before finasteride I was horny all the time, I was thinking about sex like every 5 minutes and now I look at my gf and feel completely nothing… Will these sides go away?

I hear you buddy! This medication or “poison pill” is extremely potent and should not be prescribed for a small hair issue. I took the pill for 3 weeks on and off. I was given 1 mg pills and also cut the pill in halves for the last week.

I quit Propecia two months ago and am noticing gradual improvement in some areas. I am able to sexually perform again and keep an erection up. However my ejaculation is not an intense as it was prior to the pill. I have morning erections but they are not “full staff”. My spontaneous erections have taken a hit and its very difficult to have an erection just by mental stimulation alone.

Chances are that iof you only took it for such a short period that you should make a full recovery. At least that is what I have noticed in some previous blogs.

good to hear that someone is recovering from this poison… I don’t blame my doctor for prescribing the “medication”, I asked for finasteride myself. I have to tell you that I’m kind of happy I tried it, at least I can tell myself that I did everything to save my hair, but was it worth it? that’s another story. So today is my 3rd day off finasteride and my desire to have sex is still basically zero.

damn, I’m starting worrying about it, my penis is just a piece of skin now, not sensitive at all, I thought I’d be getting better but this is getting wrose and worse…

Nothing has changed, I feel terrible… What’s the point of living if you have no sexual desire at all? Next week I have an appointment with a psychiatrist.

The best thing to do now is to see a an Endo and get some blood test done. Want to check for your T levels and how they balance out with FSH and lh. Now sure if the pysch would make you feel better. Need to start with the blood test first.

Don’t see a Psychiatrist, they are just going to give you a Psychiatric diagnosis, pal! It’s in their financial interest to label the cause of your problem as mental, not physical.

Hey man, I know its hard but you need to keep pushing forward. You only took the loll for 6 days chances are you will make a full recovery. Understand that your situation is temporary and you will once again be normal. We all face challenges in life but what defines you is responds to them.

Stay strong, and one day you will look back at how you learned from this.

It looks like my sex drive got back to normal but… my fully erected penis is significantly smaller than it used to be before the finasteride. Besides that I still feel extremely fatigue, both my hands feel really weak, like it’s impossible for me to clnech my fists. I don’t know if it’s finasteride but surely I need to see a doctor.
