Got my results today from Rheinlabs.
Have an appointment next monday with an endoclinic and with crisler the coming week.
Somehow it looks my adrenal glands are pretty active… .
rhein.pdf (3.33 MB)
looks a little similar to mine, except my DHEA and Test weren’t as high. What was your total urine volume? I read if the volume is high the readings aren’t really accurate for corticosteroids.
yeah, that is what i thought, too.
I calculated some rations - one is really low, the other one well in range.
So not clear about 5arII reductase activity.
3AdiolG is one the highest I have seen here so far, without any hormonal relevant medications… .
Don’t know yet.
But you are right, some things look similar.
My total volume was 2600ml.
My testo was also ok in blood sample as well as DHT.
I have the impression that my adrenal glands are firing quite a bit here, but I need to discuss this with the clinics I am going to on Monday.
Of interest might actually be Androstendion level, which is quite high (6x) in my sample. I think, I did not find it in your test elevated though.
This + cortisol + elevated DHEA points to some issues with the adrenal glands as far as I see… .
let me know what you think.
It would be good to have a collection of people who have performed this urine test to compare on a broader scale.
More members should consider doing this test.
Cheers
You’re urine volume wasn’t that high, so it should be fine. Mine was 4L and the latest test it was 5L…I guess I just drink lots of water. I’m again meeting with Crisler on Monday to go over the latest results. To tell you the truth I’m not very optimistic on what he will say.
What kind of sides are you having? I need to look up your story. I mainly just have softer erection issues, loss of sensitivity, and pain in the groin region. Sometimes breast sensitivity/irritation(might be normal).
Remember all of these corticosteroids are stress induced, so if you are stressing yourself out it might elevate them. It’s good that you are getting it looked into further. I saw an endo with my results and he told me urine panels are BS and that I have no symptoms of elevated cortisol…which are high BP, easy bruising, weight gain, glucose intolerance, etc.
good luck and keep me updated.
Hi,
well, I also have no clue what Crisler will say to this but for now it is an indication that some things are not working out right I would say.
I am not too skeptical about urine panels but I want to talk about it with some docs on Monday. Maybe I would need to confirm with an independent test or something.
Yes, I know about the cortisol levels; however I performed the panel on a Sunday - doesn’t mean anything, but I was not stressed at all this day.
However, the point that DHEA and also Androstenendion are elevated (actually quite a bit) would further point to the adrenal glands. I think Andostenendion can also be produced by the glands to a certain extent.
Regarding my sides - ED, libido is low, sensitivity issues. While on fin I had watery semen which I don’t have anymore. I rule out any brain fog or gyno, muscle bone loss etc. Sexual sides is what I am dealing with.
Currently, I am following ‘Cytochromes’ experiences quite a bit.
He pointed once at the adrenal glands and elevated Androstenendion values. Go through his posts if you are interested.
He was on dexamethasone once and also currently is. He is rather sure that it helped him to recover once and tries the same protocol again.
I will discuss this in more detail with Crisler and the Endos on Monday to see what they say. I go to a clinic now since my experience with endos is, that they simply do not know their job and can’t admit it… .
I assume I would need to validate some things first before jumping in vague conclusions… .
Yeah sure I will update, that is why I am here !
Hey FinSucks,
I have similar sides I belive as you (all sexual) in nature. Is Chrisler helping you? Is he worth seeing?
hi. crisler is a very nice person I finf.
i talked to him once via phone.
i am an international patient and have not met him personally.
i would say that the more information you can bring to him right from the start the better it is.
since he also doesn’t have a solution to our problem it is necessary to work together and not think thta he will cure you right away. this won’t be the case
he is working together with you.
I would say it is really worth contacting him, also to have more patients suffering from finasteride under one physician.
take care
Here is something odd: every time I get a blood test, total estrogens comes up significantly over the top of the normal range, which is 130 pg/mL. I’ve had results in the 200’s and even the 300’s. With a 24-hour urine test, total estrogens is 7.7 ug/24 hours on a scale of 4 to 22 ug/24 hours. E2 is similarly rather low in the normal range with the 24 hour urine test (1.6 ug/24 hours with a normal range of 0 to 7.0). With a blood test, E2 is usually high normal or high.
Huh.
What accounts for this?

I’d say that these results complement each other maybe.
urine panel shows excretion of products and gives insight into metabolism.
finsucks, have you ever had serum DHEA or DHEA-S tested?
Much like you, my urinary DHEA is above normal range, yet serum tests for DHEA-S are mid range.
kasman
yes, before the urine panel i had a test for testosterone (came back slightly elevated).
thereafter, i had a bunch of tests. The only apparent thing that came back elevated was DHEAS, which upon retesting some weeks later was still high but not out of range. Cortisol levels were checked in serum too. On top of range in the morning and declining throughout the day.
In my opinion, the urine panel and the serum stuff does not need to match.
I trust the urine panel as well as the serum measurements, both show different things.
What I read from my urine panel is, as stated, that my adrenal glands are firing somewhat, though serum levels are not out of range; however secretion clearly is.
Crisler asked me if I take any testosterone supplements, which I don’t do.
The latest blood tests (two weeks ago) came back fairly normal, with mid range DHEAS, high DHT, mid range testosterone; however these tests were performed while I was (and still am) on medication. thus, it was not surprising that my dheas dropped.
I currently follow cytochromes track… . He pointed to some issues that I follow up further… .
