A ‘cure’ within the next year?
A cure from science/ research, if there is to ever be one, will be decades away. The only hope of a treatment that could be considered a ‘cure’ within the next couple of years would 100% have to be something we stumble across ourselves. I.e. if i got better from Avodart and others tried and got better or Joetz got better using maximum mil thistle and others tried it and got better.
GHB and Nystatin should be two things that are investigated further in 2012 imo.
Really? You’re really using avodart and suggesting others use it too? We’ve had at least one member kill himself here due to the extreme and persistent side effects of avodart.
First off, you have no idea when there will be a cure. None of us do. If they can find what they are looking for, things could move quickly for a treatment option. Or, maybe they never find anything at all. There is no need to speculate and suggest it will be “decades” and break peoples spirits, because 99.9% of us here do not have a clue. I know you are hurting and probably very angry. I am too. Still, there is no good in making such statements.
Also, dude, in our situation, thinking outside the box is very necessary, but taking Avodart, no matter what the current benefits may be, sounds very, very dangerous and may hurt you even more. Just be careful man. If the benefits you state do not last, you might strongly consider never touching 5ARI’s again.

Some steroids, SERM’s and AI’s have all shown very promising results in certain individuals - and people should cooperate, and begin experimenting with drug protocols. That’s research in practice, and the only thing that’s going to make us recover. It appears as most people here actually believe that PFS is permanent (which it’s NOT), and just are sitting and waiting for a professional to figure out what’s wrong and come and save us. Let me ask you this, if you were lost deep into a forest, would you sit and wait for professionals to come and rescue you, or do everything you could to survive and get out of the situation?
You’re waiting for something that’s not coming. What will happen, is that Merck will be sued and lose, Propecia pulled off the market, and then you’ll be forgotten.

Furthermore, I am not just “sitting and waiting” as you suggest. I am keeping my mind open to many things, as we all probably should.

I’m not waiting for someone to come rescue me, I’m waiting for a map (which is in the initial stages of being made), while at the same time keeping my mind open to alternatives. I guess I could just start popping Avodart, I hear thats the cure now. And there are just as many negative reports from people on the treatments you brought up. Check the TRT thread for one. And there seems to be plenty of users experimenting with different drug protocols already, which is appreciated. But don’t tell me I need to “cooperate” with putting more drugs in my system at this point in time, when thats what got me in this mess to begin with. If further down the line, when we have an actual scientific backed understanding of what the underlying issue is, and the only treatment protocol involves taking a drug then thats a different story. But I’m not playing “pharmaceutical” pin the tail on the donkey. Its not worth the risk to me.

Today is March 1st. Already another 2 months have gone by this year. I feel like my life is just on hold and waiting, unfortunately its been this way for almost a full five years now. I never thought it would last this long. WTF When is this going to end? I think the most important thing to do is take some form of action. Whether its visiting a new doctor or trying something and helping the effort to raise public awareness. I really hope Awors study releases something soon, the Nystatin treatment comes true, or any of the other members on this forum pursuits result in some kind of treatment / cure. Life is just passinig us by.
Yes, you are right. You have got to keep yourself busy with something. Do what you can. If you don’t want to experiment with treatments, contribute with something else. Check out the threads in my signature.
I have been working on my TRT protocol, and I think it’s just a question of time before I manage to stabilize the condition. At least I know that PFS is reversible. Read about my latest experience in this thread. I’ve just adjusted my protocol again, and I’m currently in the process of obtaining steroids legally - after all my norwegian sources got raided by the police recently…

I am having problems with my friends as I cant seem to be able to connect with them. Anyways, I am not taking any meds just staying healthy. I will say that my sleep is terrible. Someone just go steal a hydrogen bomb and force the world into figuring out PFS. Honestly if the will power was there this whole syndrome could probably be figured out completely in a month with top scientists working in it. Not saying they could cure it in a month but at least figure out exactly how it happened.
