Young blood transfusion

I saw some people wishing this could be possible.
Now it is. It is a trial
clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02803554

The science behind it on mice (and some anecdotal evidence in humans) is very very promising. It basically shows rejuvenation of nerves, muscles, and improved cognitive abilities.

Note that the trial is being criticized because it charges people 8K for that, but that is simply because of the large number of people who desperately want to do that (including me). Unfortunately I can’t go to California (I am dealing with another health problem).

I will be willing to be part of a pool of funders who will fund a couple of people to try this ASAP. The enrollment has started the whole thing will take two days.

What do you guys say? I feel this is the most exciting thing going on right now.

seriously!? I thought this will get TONS of interest…

It’s very interesting indeed. But another thing that seems far away.

Far away? The trial has begun already! Anyone above 35 qualifies. We need 2-3 people to try.

Rejuvination of neurons in the brain, muscles in the body, aswell as % chance of success.

I would have enrolled tomorrow but i live very far and can’t take a plane. Anyone from CA or west coast.

Can you imagine numbness gone, penis rejuvinated, hippocampus getting a reboot… It is bound to help to some extent

I meant before the treatment is widely available to general public. It sounds like you think it would actually undo PFS, rather than just being somewhat assistive to recovery or providing temporarily alleviation of symptoms. Can you say by what mechanism you feel it could actually make PFS go away? It seems to me that we have permanent damage to receptors, for example, how would young blood undo that?

Interesting idea.

I can’t tell you, just like researchers can’t tell you why this is currently being used for Alzheimer and why in mice there was rejuvenation of neurons and muscles. The mechanism is theoretical.

To me something that rejuvenates muscles/neurons (which alone is astonishing) might also fix receptors. No proof in humans yet. But I know that before I jump off a bridge I would like to try this.

Fair enough. I agree that it’s very intriguing. Have you taken steps to actually try it out or have an idea of how you might go about doing so in the future?

For the heck of it, I reached out the company running the trial for more info. I will probably talk to Dr. Irwig and Goldstein as I have appointments with them in the next 30 days to see their thoughts on it. If they feel it has any promise, I will probably give it a shot.

Sounds good. I hope you’ll give us updates. Looks very interesting.
