who is not taking Vitamin D yet doing well?

Hi all

As more I research more I am sure We are having autoimmune disorder. The Marshall protocol is against the use of Vitamin D in Autoimmune disease ( I am doubtful though about not using Vitamin D).
I am having good results from Vitamin D use. I want to know how many people are not using Vitamin D3.

can i ask you what sides vitamin D improves? Particularly does it improve sexual problems?

I have not used any Vit D supplements as of yet. In fact, I do not think I have had any tests regarding it so far. Did AWOR say Vit D is another thing that lowers the AR signal?

whoa whoa whoa… vit D is BAD for auto immune diseases? that’s crazy. do you have a link with more info on that on what you read?

bacteriality.com/about-the-mp/

Im not taking supplements, but Ive been getting a TINY bit better. Mostly feel better in the summer where I get 1-4 hrs of sun a day (when the suns out). Maybe I should supplement some vit d in the winter. Whats a good one? Does it help with sleep at high doses?

I am trying to validate Marshal protocol here. Vit D in any form sun shine or supplements should be avoided.

that website says:

everyone here has low vitamin D. have you considered this?

or has anyone tested the vit D “metabolites” to know for sure if they have this condition… it does seem similar minus the high vit d.

I found I’m ANA positive which is a vague way of saying it’s an autoimmune issue. I also found after years of taking vitamin D3 (5000iu) that my D is a almost zero. The D is very important for overall health and I’m wondering if I do have an autoimmune issue caused by Propecia. Marshall protocol has proponents but sounds like too much. I’m trying to level out my low T and pregnenolone first

People here should test their vit D and test for autoimmune ANA markers. I just did a posting in the General section of how cholesterol conversion can be faulty after Propecia possibly affecting CYP450 or adrenal ferredoxin (which affect vitamin D conversion as well). Check it out.

I read people saying they have low vitamin D but it’s correlation and importance aren’t understood.

Here’s some info to back me up on vit d linked to autoimmunity:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17699936
webmd.com/multiple-sclerosis/news/20100823/vitamin-d-linked-to-autoimmune-diseases

and your ESR?
So is your doctor doing any further tests to find out what antibodies against what?
I have strong suspicion that we are having anti bodies issues. Just google for auto immune symptoms, no matter what website you open you will see we have 100% of the symptoms given there.
for example
evenbetterhealth.com/autoimmune-disease-symptoms.php

compare symptoms given here with our symptoms.
Also you will note most of the websites address auto immune problems in women, the reason? low DHT?. So did low DHT trigger auto immune?

In response to the question of the thread, I’m not on Vitamin D, I wouldn’t say I’m doing well but I am managing. I felt no differance when I was taking vitamin D and I tried it up to 10k units a day.

Can somebody tell me how long vitamin D lasts in the body? for example, if i were to lay in the sun for an hour tomorrow, how long is the vitamin D in my system for?

It’s a 2 part question. Vitamin D is fat soluble. Sun exposure causes your body to produce a lot of Vitamin D, some of which your body stores in fat to slowly release over time, the rest either used right away or filtered out, though I’m not sure how much excess the body makes that would be filtered out. So some of the Vitamin D will stay in your body an extended period of time stored in fat, some used or possibly eliminated rather quickly. You’re trying to determine this latter part of the question, right? Whether it’s hours, days, or weeks that a large dose of Vitamin D from a single sun exposure will remain in your body and affect you?

“D3 spontaneously isomerizes to vitamin D 3 (cholecalciferol) in a antarafacial sigmatropic [1,7] hydride shift. At room temperature, the transformation of previtamin D3 to vitamin D3 takes about 12 days to complete.[88]
Whether it is made in the skin or ingested, cholecalciferol is hydroxylated in the liver at position 25 (upper right of the molecule) to form 25-hydroxycholecalciferol (calcidiol or 25(OH)D). This reaction is catalyzed by the microsomal enzyme vitamin D 25-hydroxylase,[133] which is produced by hepatocytes. Once made, the product is released into the plasma, where it is bound to an α-globulin, vitamin D binding protein.[134]”

Without conversion, our supplemented cholecalciferol (d3) doesn’t convert to 25(OH) which is what’s tested. Same applies to sun exposure.

Spstriken, i have recently started taking Vitamin K2 and Sea kelp.
Have you tried either of these supplements?

I also take bovine (adrenal) tablets on a daily basis along with Zinc, Copper, Selenium, Garlic and Vitamin C.
All of the above are helping me and are now my ‘staple’ supplements.
I wouldn’t say that i’m doing well, but more a case of managing as best i can.

That is what i am wondering, yes. Thanks for the information. Vitamin D being stored in fat may explain my continued benefits even after returning from a sunny holiday last year. I seemed to get much worse when things did get back to PFS though.

Taking or not taking vitamin D seems to not make a difference if our bodies are not absorbing it. Thats why you have to check 25-OH levels of D.

I have been taking 5000iu d3 for years that I’ve had PFS and my levels are dangerously low. Others seem the same. Autoimmune issues seem like another part of this issue. All I know is I’m ANA IFA positive.

if you are ANA positive go and look for antibodies tests.
