Which symptoms do we all have in common?

I’m interested in finding out what we all have in common. You say that you have a lot of symptoms, does that include changes to seminal fluid? Please describe. Everyone else too, if you have seen any changes, please respond. I think it’s a common symptom.

I do NOT have the persistent sexual sides that a lot of guys get. I only had those sides for a 1-2 week period after a “mini-crash” I had 5 months after I stopped taking Finasteride.

My persistent sides are:

-Decreased vision (trouble focusing, floating vision)
-Dry eyes
-Dry/itchy skin
-Brain Fog
-Joint soreness
-Fatigue
-Tinnitus
-Ear infections/pain

Although those symptoms are likely to be caused by Propecia, especially if you didn’t have any problems before using the drug, it should not be defined as PFS without persistent erectile dysfunction and reduced libido IMO. People are describing a lot of symptoms, and it’s a problem when we’re dealing with professionals. PFS needs to be defined by symptoms that we all (at least the majority) have in common. Only then can we convince them that something is wrong, and it may give them an idea about where to look. As far as I know, the majority are having trouble with sexual function.

for me the sides have been zero libido, erectile disfunction,no orgasm when i ejaculate,no force when i ejaculation, numb genitals, severe fatigue at first but has gotten better over the years, depression, anxiety,my sperm was really clumpy at one point and not very much would come out but it is normal cosistency now, insomnia on and off, never had the painful ache in balls thing till i tried progesterone cream earlier this year and got it for a few months…

My seminal fluid has remained the same.

Ongoing symptoms of mine - Brain fog, extreme
- ED which is treatable with cialis
- Loss of sex drive
- Tinnitus
- Muscle loss, loss of strength, fatigue

I was also taking Rogaine. Is there a PRS forum somewhere I need to check out?

I did NOT have decreased and “floating” vision, burning dry eyes, ear infections with tinnitus, brain fog, extreme fatigue, severe itchy and dry skin, joint (especially the jaw area) problems, and more BEFORE Finasteride. Sorry, nobody gets all that shit within 6 months without a specific reason.

I’m not interested in arguing about this. All I know is that I have multiple PERSISTENT side effects after taking Finasteride. I’m also barely hanging on to my job, family, sanity, and for awhile there, my life. I don’t care much what it’s called; I just want it FIXED. I have WAY too many things in common with the other guys here for this to be some type of crazy coincidence. My cure is (or will be) here somewhere.

And if anyone’s interested, I’d trade my visual sides for your sexual sides in a HEARTBEAT. Let me know.

That’s because this shit causes multiple symptoms. Not our fault. The PFS webpage lists sexual, PHYSICAL, and MENTAL sides effects associated with PFS. So, it is already KNOWN and ACCEPTED that Propecia causes MULTIPLE side effects.

I didn’t know you were running this show. The “majority” also have: mental and physical sides, like me.

Users with JUST sexual symptoms have had ALL KINDS of trouble convincing MULTIPLE doctors that Finasteride caused the problem.

Anyway, you are correct about the majority having the sexual sides. As I do not, I will now leave your thread alone. You are looking for people with sexual sides to comment and that’s cool.

All I want is for this shit to be over.

At first I had absolutely everyone, but were disappearing over time, I currently have only:

erectile dysfunction ( before was total impotence + shrinkage)
low libido( before was totally absent)
mild testicular pain (before was strong)

Today I had a semi erection spontaneously, but disappeared quickly.

IthinkFingotmetoo, I’m not saying that you don’t have problems that’s caused by Propecia. Although we do have some doctors that are supporting us, it’s not generally accepted that Propecia is able to cause what we’re calling PFS. That’s why it’s important to define it by symptoms that the majority have in common. It hasn’t been done yet, and that’s why I’ve started this thread.

Enden,

Please check out http://www.pfsfoundation.org.

The syndrome and sides (sexual, mental, and physical) are defined.

The list includes all of the “common” symptoms, except for the visual sides, which I would like to see listed. I’ve seen numerous complaints regarding visual symptoms on this site.

Anyway, I’d like to add one side to my list: easily irritated. I go from “zero” straight to “extremely irritable.” I wasn’t like this before Fin.

Sorry if I was rude in my last post. I already have enough trouble convincing doctors that Fin caused these issues; I really don’t want to have to defend myself here.

I get it, I’m in the minority, of the monitory, of the minority:

-I got sides in the first place.
-I have persistent sides.
-I don’t have the sexual sides.

This already disqualified me for the lawsuit with Habush. Also, I took generics, so I’m screwed some more. But, like I said before, I just want it FIXED, and if there is a fix for me, it will be here.

I get it if you are trying to find commonalities between sufferers with the sexual sides.

For what it’s worth, I’ve had some trouble with vision too. I had trouble focusing. I was examined by an ophthalmologist a while back, but he didn’t find anything wrong. I don’t know if it’s related to use of Propecia. However, I do know that Cialis affects my vision negatively, and gives me brain fog after using it continuously for a month. Something to think about for those who’re using Cialis and experiencing brain fog.

IthinkFingotmetoo, have you seen an ophthalmologist? Take a look at the following study, btw - if you haven’t seen it yet. Vision problems and brain fog suggests that it may be a neurological issue. FYI, 5 mg finasteride a day is just as potent as 1 mg a day.

How’s your sexual function now?

Yes, I’ve been to an ophthalmologist. I’ve also been to two cornea specialists, a dry eye specialist, and an expert RPG (Rigid Gas Permeable) contact fitter. I am actually flying to Florida next week to see the RPG fitter again to try to get the fit and vision better. I am also seeing another dry eye specialist while I am there.

Buy yeah, other than the RPG fitter, no one can find anything wrong with my eyes. And the RPG fitter is pretty much just assuming. He doesn’t have any proof; he’s just not biased towards Big Pharma like most docs.

After next week, I will have spent approximately $15,000 in the last year on my eyes ALONE regarding this situation (most of that being on the contacts, and I’m not even sure they will work). So, that’s not counting the urologist, endo, GPs, MRIs, etc.

The most that has come out of this? The RPG fitter is the only doctor to REALLY believe that Finasteride could have caused my issues. He told me that my tear film was DEFINITELY messed up from Finasteride, and it is quite likely that the structure of my cornea was changed.

Most docs are completely oblivious to what Fin can do to a person, and the ones that aren’t, don’t know what to do for you.

my sexual sides are worse than ever at the minute, never had any real improvement in that department since i crashed,if im going through a period where i am feeling good which is rare when you have pfs as you know, things are slightly better,as in i can almost feel a very small amount of pleasure when i ejaculate instead of the usual nothing, erection strength gets slightly better and i get the odd little tingle in my genitals, like a very weak spontanious erection, though i think i could count on one hand the times this has happened in the last six years, pre crash i would get rock hard erections every day just from the vibration of driving a car etc etc just as any normal man does…

So far, changes to seminal fluid don’t seem to be a common symptom.

Strange, before I knew of PFS I was aware watery semen was common for non-sufferers that were taking Propecia. Was universally accepted on forums as a side-effect that comes and goes. However, interestingly it had no correlation with libido.

Is really erectile dysfunction and reduced libido the only symptoms the majority has in common?

I have noticed that anyone who has testicle pain, pelvic/lower abdomen pain, knee pain, has it on the left side of the body

Not sure if this is related, but my left eye lost vision. Unfortunately that was my “good” eye after Lasik. The dry eye is in both eyes.

enden arent you still on propecia

i have always had perfect vision all my life and it wasnt affected when i crashed or over the years since until i tried progesterone cream earlier this year, now i go through periods when my eyesight is terrible,i get pain in my head trying to read, when im trying to focus etc,if i lift my head up from a book and try and look at something my vision wont focus properly like it used to,the progesterone definately gave me new sides…
