What Percentage Can I recover With Medical Treatment?

Hi, what is the percentage I can recover if I do a “Medical Treatment” ex. Clomid and so on? At this stage I would be even happy to have 40% or 50% of my prior PFS health back. I am thinking I have to take this whole journey step by step and not expect maybe too much.

Currently, I am just going to the gym, eating healthy try to rest a lot and take natural supplements which did not help a lot since I took my last pill in Dec 2013. My thoughts are, I try to recover first the natural way but the longer I dont see any improvement I am thinking to get medication.

Thank you!

No one knows.

Hardly anyone recovers from this.

Best choice is to particupate in studies and invest money into the PFS Foundation. Just last week they released their annual address. In this Dr Santmann states he is ‘hopeful that the coming year will bring … additional research projects that lay the groundwork for effective therapies.’

This is the biggest opportunity to fix this mess.

Gelhead, how do you know nobody recovered? What about the recovery stories we have got here in the forum? I am curious how many people have recovered but never reported this anywhere. I am not ready to give up and say “There is no solution” this is not the way I want to think about this side effects, I believe and have faith that I will recover, call me a positive person but I rather have a positive mindset than being sad every day and thinking there will be never a solution to this

I was stuck with secondary hypo when I quit propecia now I am on TRT… I would say I am at about 90 percent… When I first quit I could not have sex successfully without ed meds until I was on TRT for at least 6 months… Now I don’t need them

I didn’t I say there is no solution and I’m not asking anyone to give up on one. Just that we direct our hope in the right place.

We don’t know enough to say either way. This is why the studies are taking place.

This is a large part of why the hard work of people like Mew, Awor and the PFSF takes place.

It is good you have a positive mindset, this is important in preventing depression and stress. Both will wreak havoc on your health.

But unfortunately, patients have had an extremely poor track record of fixing this themselves. What is it that makes you think you have some special insight which will allow you to fix this?

For years people have really believed that they can fix this. Yet the track record continues to be extremely poor.

It seems that people simply cannot grasp this. And they continue to squandor time and money on DIY “treatments”.

So… Round and round we go, on the insanity carousel.

Will we ever see what we are doing?

I think that its all about finding things that work for u and when u do stick with that… I got on TRT… Im about 90 perecent… No I have not fully recovered but I am at about 90 percent… so im happy overall

I think its important to understand that everybody is different, I took Propecia for over 10 years without any major problems but at year 11 - 12 I got the side effects too, am I different? Of course, why because everybody reacts different to finesteride, some people take it just for a few weeks or months and they have got the side effects already. Also, there are many people who stop Propecia and they get to “Normal” very quickly as described in this forum.

I am not looking for a miracle here, I have read a lot reports now from people who have recovered even though it took some time but they are recovered and feel better, just go into the recovery section.

Maybe I will recover in 10 years maybe in 5 years, who knows? But I want to take action! I follow some of the advise which was written in the recovery section, such as: diet, gym, rest no stress, natural supplements and I am still doing it but I am also willing to try to check out some medicine along the way to see if it will help me.

For me its important not to put too much pressure on me, also time wise, of course I want to heal as soon as possible but I am trying to not to expect too much otherwise the disappointment will be even higher. I take it step by step.

I think u will get there!! At least ure hormones are not showing low testosterone… that’s a good thing…it just takes time

Hi Praying To Heal,

thank you for your reply, what makes you think that my testosterone is ok? My assumption is that my E level is too high and in took over my body and the balance between the E and T level is out of place. I can’t say this for sure since I have not yet visited a doctor to get my results checked in detail since I want to try first to recover the natural way.

I would recommend
Vit D3
Lysine (natural, not synthetic)
LAringinine (natural, not synthetic)

use this and see how you change into good again.

Yes I think the only way u will know is to go get checked?? Do u still have nocturnals and can u get a hard erection if u masterbate?

Thank you for your replies everybody really appreciate!

I got checked and the Doc said, “Your T level its good”, I asked how good, he said, “Well it could be higher but its rather below average”. I am fully aware that I have to check all my other functions as well which I will do as soon as I can.

To answer your questions Praying To Heal, yes it still gets hard but it does not remain, it gets soft very quickly (maybe after 3min to 4 min). Also, its not as hard as it used to be, now its maybe at 30% to 40% and my libido is definitely low maybe at 25%, but on days I am really well rested my libido and erections get better, maybe by 10%, maybe its just an imagination but I feel it improves on this days. For the time being I keep using Cialis until my situation gets better.

I will definitely try what Spstriken has recommended, thank you! Why? What do I have to loose? Again, I want to take action! I think there is something key here to understand, just because certain things did not work for others does not mean it will not work for me, I still believe each one reacts different to this natural supplements or medication, the same way each one reacts different to Propecia.

Do u lose erection every single time u do it when u have sex without meds??? Reason im asking is when I have sex without meds I can do it doggiestyle and I don’t need meds…and its good from start to finish… if I masterbate a couple of days week and try to have sex sometimes I will lose erection… but its rare meaning if I don’t masterbate at all for a long time I can successfully have sex every 2 days without meds…

Its the same for any position really. I sometimes do mastrubate just to see how my body reacts after the PFS mess and it seems to be ok given the circumstances I am in, meaning it gets hard but gets soft fast. Well, I can’t compare it when I sleep with my girlfriend since there is much more pressure to perform well and I loose erection after just a short time which makes me feel very uncomfortable looking at my girlfriend and see the disappointment in her face. That is the main reason I am taking Cialis to avoid this situations and so far it helped me to at least to perform and somehow enjoy sleeping with my girlfriend.

Well hang in there partner and just give it time… Hopefully the longer u take the Cialis the faster u will get back to normal to where u don’t need it at all…Are u able to get a blowjob without losing erection off of Cialis??

Maybe some people do make recoveries but each case is different, from what i’ve read not many people recover from shrinkage or make 100% recoveries.

I wouldn’t consider lifelong TRT being an effective treatment since it doesn’t cure any of the more severe mental side effects, and some of the sexual ones. Also its just a nice way of saying your on steroids, which will even in small doses eventually shrink your testicles and lower your fertility, possibly long-term. Not a solution for men looking to have kids one day. Also there are the heart disease risks associated with being on testosterone long term.

Do you have mental sides or only the sexual ones?
