I also became aware of a large patch at the front of my calves where the hair had fallen out, although I’m glad to say that it has grown back. My other symptoms persist however and my 3 blood test results over the last year or so suggest total t and free t levels which, if anything, are dropping. My TSH has however dropped from 5.1 to 2 point something.
Hi Scotsman what did you do to grow back the hair ?
Hi there Mark
I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary that could make the hair on my calves grow back. All I’m taking just now are the usual vitamins etc. I don’t know whether it’s just been a matter of time. One thing to point out is that after my last post I had a good look at my calves and tbh the hair hasn’t grown back completely and is still a bit patchy, although not a large patch which was mostly absent of hair like before. In ways I’m not your typical pfs sufferer in that I’ve not experienced a crash, nor suffered ed or brainfog etc. I have experienced sides which are less common although I still have some of the more common sides. Part of me wonders if with me, some of my sides could be considered as “events” which have occurred whilst either on propecia or having stopped taking it e.g. thinning skin whilst on the drug (I’m praying that the mechanism which caused this has stopped since stopping, although it has left me in a position where my skin, like a snowball, will get accumulatively worse) and the facial fat loss on stopping, which happened within the 6 months after and appears to have stabilised. This may explain the regrowth of my leg hair in that it may have been an “event” which has been mostly rectified, rather than something persistent. I do have some other symptoms which “persist” however, as well after the after effects that the drug has left me with.
it is a good sign that hair regrowth has happened.
