No offense taken, just for some people it can take longer than just “2 weeks”…
I recall reading Finasteride has a very slow off rate (~30 d), I also recall seeing a couple stories on Hairloss sites of some guys taking up 8 months to a year to regain decent, full function… but they are likely the exception to the rule…
My guess is the norm is probably a couple weeks to a few months. Obviously the sooner the better would be great.

Well, I’m just tryin to keep my head up. I’m also so so surprised, I called my dermatologist’s office today to try to make an appointment to go talk with him about this, and they got me one for tomorrow, thats almost impossible in a dermatologists office, so anyway I can’t wait to give him a piece of my mind tomorrow!
I can’t believe these guys won’t even give out any type of warning! It is such a crime to humanity they are committing. Just because they make so much money off of Propecia they probably won’t tell you ‘some people suffer permanent’. ANyway, I hope we are not part of that small small percentage.

idk, I’m just sensitive to all drugs, thats why I gave my stats.
I took different SSRI’s in the past, all of which have sexual side effects, but they all go away after a few days… its usually just a little limp dick, or indifference it was in my opinion, so I wasn’t at all too afraid of this stuff. I just said ‘well if its bad, I’ll just stop’ …
But this shit is just TOTALLY different! Its like poison in my opinion!

HCG alone will shut down your HPTA even more. If you want to “jumpstart” your HPTA, you would use a SERM type drug like clomid or nolvadex. The only thing HCG does, is getting your balls producing more T by mimic LH, and it should always be flollowed up by using a SERM when you are “jumpstarting”.
BTW. I never heard of any finasteride suffer who succeding with the jumpstart solution, only bodybuilders who is shut down due to steroids.

My stats are the same as you except I’m only 26. Currently, I think I am getting a little better. I still have terrrible anxiety in the morning when I wake up and at the early evening. From what I have been reading, this seems to be when the most cortisol is released in the system. Anyway, today and yesterday were a little better for me during the morning and early afternoon hours. By this, I mean that I felt a little horny and I felt like I could achieve an erection. However, I do not get morning wood or spontaneous erections during the day anymore. Also, I require manual stimulation. I used to have to fight to not get an erection. I’m trying to stay as calm as possible. I did call a ton of pharmacists yesterday. They said that there is no reason to wean from propecia. Also, they stated that propecia is out of the plasma in a couple days max, but the 5AR can continue to occur for up to 30 days. This gave me some hope (if anyone disagrees, please don’t tell me).
Last night, I tried the Viagra test and it worked. I would suggest getting some from your doctor. I was a little flushed, but my erection was great. I hope this gets me through so I can save my relationship.

Hey guys, panic, how are guys feeling anyway? Well I had a good few days… up until yesterday afternoon, I actually thought I was healed and going to be fine. But my dick has been hurting again, and shriveled up for a while too. Its just too too scarey. I hope it works its way out of my system. How are things with you Panic?
Anyway, with my dermatologist the first question I asked him was "how long have you been prescribing this stuff, then I asked how many patients have complained about lasting or permanent side effects… He said "Well, a long time, ever since I’ve started as a doctor (didn’t say a time but I’m guessing maybe two years), anyways he then said no, never heard of permanent.
He then did seem very concerned. I told him a lot. About how I think the stats lie, this stuff is poison, Why would anyone EVER even recommend this stuff to someone, even with this slight slight chance of sexual side effects. Its just not worth the risk, at all!! “Why wouldn’t you tell someone this??!”
He seemed very concerned and supportive though. He even called my school health offical to tell him to refer me to the endocrinologist after I told him how I just wanted the blood tests anyway, even if I did think I was getting better.
He did tell me, I can almost guarantee you that you will be fine. I can’t say 100% obviously, but I just think you will be fine.
Ironically, the girl in the office, who just seemed to kinda know why I was there, said that the other dermatologist won’t even prescribe the stuff, and this is probably why.
Anyway, I have an appointment to go back in two weeks to see him. He made it. He seemed very interested and curious. I hope I am just not a statistic. I hope he is right and I will be “fine”. Its just he said the half life of the stuff is only 8 hours or something…
Idk, the shit is scarey!! My tip feels like its burning now, and I just feel like I wanna drip… Drip drip drip till it all just runs out of me or something… ANyway, I’ll just stop now. I’m sorry, but I’m just burning. To say it simply “My dick hurts”.

Hang in there Boston. Its tough to get your head around for the first few weeks, but it is early days yet for you and there is still a great deal of hope. It sucks I know, but you just have to take it a day at a time and whatever happens will happen and we just have to deal with it one day at a time.

Ive been on and off fin 3 times total. THe first time i took propecia was halfhearted only took a pill everyother day or so max. did that for something like 4 month. Recovery was total this first time and came abit gradually but most happend at the end of like the 1st month or so.
2nd time was on 1 pill a day for maybe 4 month or so, my penis was small when quitting, but dident feel bad for the first 2 month then returned to normal when 3-4 month off.
3rd time was on the pill for 5-6 month 1 pill a day. the recovery i had regarding sexual function this time came imidiate. had rock hard erections and libido through the roof. but lasted only a month or so since then its up and down back and forth. I do feel alot better now 16 month or so after quiting fin but i am not back to myself yet.
I guess i am saying there is no magic time for propecia recovery. So dont panic yet, give it some time and im sure u will feel alot better.

Its very hard to say what is normal regarding propecia recovery, if uve had some succes as soon as a month after quitting even with relapse i think this is a good sign.
I know for a fact that sitting at home doing nothing but googleing about this wont make u better. I think it might even prolong yr recovery. Try no matter how tough it seems to shift yr focus. Excersise and meet with yr friends even if it feels irrelevant with friends. Go to the movies etc. U will feel better if u particiapate in social activities no matter how tough it is.
Hope ur able to give this a try.

Only problem is Dr. Shippen isn’t seeing any new patients and you can’t get an appointment for months if at all!
