The tests i'm getting done. Please Review

Hey guys so im going to get some bloodwork done tomorow (hopefully). Here are the tests she ordered (To be done at 8-9 am)

glucose
TSH, T4 Free
Creatinine
Sodium
Potassium
Chloride
Alt
alk.pohsphate
Lipid assessment
CBC

Prolactin
Testosterone (free+total)
Homosysteine
Estradiol ultra sensetive
DHT
DHEA
Fsh
LH
SHBG
Cortisol AM
She also mentioned progesterone (but i dont see it on the paper).

Few questions, most of these are free EXCEPT SHBG+homosysteine.
SHBG is 45$, Homosysteine is 65$. Are these two tests nessisarey you think? If they’re really important then i’ll shell out the cash, if not then screw it.

SHBG - definitely get it. Gives insight into Free T.

Homocysteine – labtestsonline.org/understan … /test.html – unless you or she is concerned about heart problems, I wouldn’t worry bout it.

See if you can get Progesterone and more importantly, 3alpha-diol G (Androstanediol glucuronide) which is a metabolite of DHT and may provide insight into 5AR2 activity per propeciahelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=761

Also, 17-ketosteroids (24-hr urine sample) and Androstenedione as these provide insight into Androgen metabolism.

Cortisol – if you can convince her to do a 24hr-urine sample, that would be much better. AM cortisol only gives a tiny window of the overall picture.

Yeah i told her about the 24 hour cortisol test, she said she wants to do the AM First, so we’ll see. Thanks for the insight. Will obtain a copy of the results and post hem. Guess i’ll opt for the SHBG, screw the homocysteine.
