Switching Gears

I joined this forum about 4 weeks ago. Up to now I’ve just been dealing with how could this happen. I’ve come up with only a few truths.

   1) If your thinking of taking this stuff--- DON'T

   2) If you must take Propecia get baseline bloodtest and start with 1/4 pill per day. You can always go up to 1/2 pill then 1pill later.

   3) If your already on it, don't stop suddenly, ween off it slowly. Decrease to 1/2 pill then 1/4 pill.

I don't understand why more people are not outraged by the fact that Propecia lowers DHT the same amount at much lower doseages by Mercks own studies. Since this is it's mode of action, why the larger dose.

However anger is not going to get me anywhere so from here on in I’m only going to concentrate on treatments. I started by buying the Testoterone Syndrome.

Hey man, “The Edge Effect” is good too. Read pages 199-200 on sexual dysfunction, it says a lot. I am going to start taking a mild mild dose of Celexa again (an ssri) just so I don’t keep worrying, all the time. It says it in the book.
Because I feel better, and my dick functions better, when I’m not feeling the discomfort, which is always exacerbated by me thinking about it and worrying about it, I think I will do this if the discomfort does not go away soon.
Because I can have sex now. Its just the ‘blueballz’! which sucks!!

Anyway, good luck! Good choice!

That will be my 2nd book as I’ve heard a lot of comments on it being good. The only problem is I can’t concentrate as well as I use to. And if I can comprehend something I forget it the next day.

No one must take propecia.

Your absolutely right JC but I think you know what I meant. People are still going to take it. They’re still going to think side effects are going to happen 2% of the time. And of those 2%, 98% of those will resolve with discontinuation of the drug.

I'm just trying to point out that merck and their drug reps giving the sales pitch to doctors should be required to tell the doctors to get a baseline bloodwork like the makers of lipitor are required to do. And that it would be in Mercks best interest (financially and otherwise) to offer and suggest to MD's Propecia in lower doseages. And I'm just trying to give sound medical advice so other people do not end up like us. However sadly the more people that do have side effects the sooner someone will seriously look into helping us. Don't think Merck isn't shameful enough to admit internally they have a problem with Propecia, start offering and pushing Propecia in lower doseages, but never pubically acknowledge their mistake.
