SRD5A2 gene mutations and 5 alpha reductase function

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7364

Moonman sent me the above link, more evidence of autoimmune disorder, we have to look very deep though.

Weren’t you oddballs supposed to go and post your ideas on your own website www.solvepfs.com??

Is there something you didn’t understand about this post?? viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9865&start=1820#p94485

Hey man, what did you have done in regards to the SRD5A2 gene and why did you have it done?

We will move back there, I just wanted to see how many people have similar experiences as this angle I do not believe has been explored.

It amazes me that no one has explored this from an autoimmune disorder perspective. There are 5AR antibodies that exist, this could be a drug induced autoimmune response. Our 5AR enzymes are being attacked by our immune system resulting in these hormonal problems. Especially with reports of guys improving while being very sick, guys improving while going through hereoin withdrawal, Ihatepropecia recovering after surgery (where they give lots of immunosuppressive drugs). Recoveries from dexamethasone (an immunosuppressive drug), there have been guys with autoimmune markers in their blood results. It would seem possibly some mechanism was damaged and it cannot repair as our immune system is attacking the 5AR enzymes, this is why perhaps some guys have recovered while fasting (starving the body and lowering immune response). It would be reasonable for everyone to get checked on the autoimmune disorder angle, they can be drug induced, 5AR antibodies do exist.

Anyone know where we can get the information on what mutations give what level of function?

Looking through my Promethease report, based on an old 23andMe and a more recent AncestryDNA, I found some SNPs for SRD5A2 that I believe were showing up as mutations.

rs11675297(A;A)
rs587776566(I;I)
rs587776567(I;I)

For info, my problem isn’t PFS (though I did try it once), but lifelong ejaculatory anhedonia. I’ve followed this site some for the similarity of the problems.

Any stats on how many of you have checked for mutation in SRD5A2, and how many have them?
