Shippen's Clomid Stimulation Test

Hey Guys,

So, before even getting my hormones tested (all he or I have seen is a Total T level of 441 one week off of the drug.), or meeting with Dr. Shippen, he wants me to do the Clomid Stimulation test… He sent instructions after I drafted a letter to him explaining my symptoms. Basically, I get a Urine Hormone Test, and then start 25mg of Clomid once a night for 7 days, then get my blood tested.

Hmmm… I was pretty dead set on working on my sleep and doing a major liver/colon cleanse. Pumping my liver full of clomid (even a small amount) doesn’t seem like the best idea. What do you guy’s think? The idea that the clomid could get me on the right track is nice, but I feel like it may add to any liver issue, and could complicate that. Why would he want to do this before seeing an E2 result? Seems like jumping the gun, no? I had a bad reaction to Levaquin last week, and don’t really trust my body taking in these drugs right now too…

I’m not ruling it out, and I definitely want to be seen and analyzed by this guy… Maybe something I wrote in my letter to him made him think this was the correct route. I tried to get him on the phone and was quickly rebuffed.

Thoughts? BTW, I’ve now been off for 6 weeks after 24 days of use.

Dude, don’t be a fool. 25 mg once a day is a very low dose. Plus, after being one of the lucky ones to get an appointment with him you’re then not going to listen to him, then bother him with phone calls, and question him!
One reason I think so many of us have come down with prostatitis is because when the prostate has been used to T pumping through at a certain level for so long, and then all of a sudden it plummets. Blood flow and testosterone is cut drastically from the prostate. Then it is prone to infection, and problems. The trick is to “stimulate” your body back in the other direction to get things back up to speed again quickly before problems can develop, and then they become long term, like what has happened to most of us on this site.

Don’t be a dumbass. He is the best there is. Also, read all the reports on Clomid treatment returning people’s hormone balance.
If you have bad eye reaction, i.e. floaters, then stop, but otherwise don’t be a fool. This may be what cures you.

You are thinking correct my friend. Clomid will make the things only worse! It will even boost your progesteron due to even stronger liver disaster that it will do to you. I already tested it, and I got crazy on clomid or any other steroids.

Dr. Shippen has no idea what he is doing, despite getting money from you.

lol… too funny. I’m not going to even comment on this.

majkellos: I believe your problems and they can in fact make one desperate for answers, but your comments sometimes seem completely surreal.

Have you read all of the scientific reports on Clomid helping people to recover in the scientific studies section you idiot! You are never going to get better if you have this view. Also Shippen is a doctor, respected author, and one of the best in his field.

i agree clomid may be the answer for some guys on here so i think it could be looked into. However, i strongly feel for others such as myself with my symptoms of the sleep and adrenals that these two areas must be addressed first. i mean in my case anyway i dont feel that by simply raising my T levels will solve all problems. For instance there are tons of guys out there who are hypo and dont have near the issues that we have in terms of sleep and fatigue brain fog etc. im just speaking for myself and my own symptoms. Im sure T is an issue for me that could be dealt with down the line, but the sleep and adrenals need to be addressed first in my case.

You are an Idiot Boston then if you make such comments!!!

Yes he is good in his field as many other endocrynologists, exactly like you said. The problem is that most people here do not have a problem with the ratio of T!!

Most endos including Shippen cannot make any logical clue why their rediculous hormonal treatments (provided for post-fina users with normal ranges) make the whole thing worse.

Why they do not appear to think logicaly that there must be something wrong, but not associated with the hormons itself. They even prefer (including Shippen) to create some conspiracy theories about genes being switched of… etc instead of directing people to make different tests.

I had the same experience with my dump, brainless endos, who did not say any word about a possible liver disorder that I am going through. They were also giving me conspiracy statements… non of them was able to think logicaly to go beyond their field, when I returned and explained how bed I felt on steroids, there was no logical advice (like go and check your liver etc) there was a complete confusion, “0” capability of creative thinking going beyond their field, “0” medicin based creativity… Only saying…

“You have to continued Clomid (that I was really getting insane from), even if you do not like to…” no comments

I had to work on my onw to find what is going on and I am om my track to be 100% recover, but this is only due to my engagement to get over it.

First of all, he does not try to “take people’s money”. The two times I have called his office to try to schedule an appointment, they wouldn’t even take me as a new patient, and couldn’t make an appointment. He is a very busy man, and in high demand.

Secondly, medicine is a science. Sometimes they must go through a process of elimination, like in complicated cases such as ours. Testosterone deficiency and hormone imbalance with respect to free testosterone is indeed a common cause of many of our problems. Even sleep problems and brain fog, ithappens. The Clomid stimulation Test has been proven to be a very safe, sensitive, and effective way to rebalance the HPTA, as proven by all of the literature, and all of the doctors out there from all over who prescribe it for this purpose.
It is the number one choice for this purpose, and hence why it is the best place for him (Shippen) as well as other top endocrinologists to start, such as Crisler I believe also starts with this.
Keep in mind these are also the two best known, by far, to have helped cure us Finasteride sufferers.
Anyway dude, I know you are having trouble, and sorry to be harsh, but smarten up please. You will get past this… I promise!!
