Seriously considering taking Flomax... opinions?

Wish I could believe that Joe. I’m scared I’m going to have to get surgery for this. Flomax SUCKS. I feel dizzy and like I have the flu all the time. My sinuses are suddenly congested as well, which I’ve read is a side. Also I get these weird pains around my heart and tingling in my arm. It’s had absolutely no effect on my stream yet, but they say it can take up to 30 days to work. I hate this drug already, but I’m bad enough off so that the sides would be worth it if it works.

And guess what the Nurse told me when they prescribed it-- “side effects are rare. you shouldn’t have a problem.” There is also a chance of a permanent side effect to the iris which supposedly interferes with future cataract surgery, and of course that was not mentioned by our caring medical professionals. What a crock of shit these people are.

Anyway, the plan right now is to see the urologist Wednesday, have a complete check up down there to see what they think is going on, then try to talk to them a bit about hormonal treatments like Arimidex. I’ve already ordered chrysin, DIM, and quercetin in case he gives me no help. Also I’ll try to get him to give me an order for blood tests NOW rather than for 9/1.

I use sustain alpha one month on, one month off.

For anyone who cares, I stopped taking the flomax. It wasn’t doing a thing and made me feel like total crap all the time. From what I’ve read, it can take a week or two to kick in though. Just wasn’t worth it for me.

I’m going to start trying the salt/iodine method suggested by MartinM. I’ve been taking sea salt for the last couple of days and will be adding iodine tonight. One site I have read suggests that iodine will bind to estrogen receptor sites in the prostate and reverse the inflammation. That might explain the results he’s been getting.

"Iodine/iodide is one of the primary preventive minerals in the prevention of breast, ovary, uterine, and prostate cancers as well as BPH. Adequate iodine/iodide in the diet, or by supplementation, will occupy the estrogen receptor sites on these estrogen sensitive tissues and not only reduce risk, but often completely reverse the inflammation resulting in the swelling and tenderness so often referred to as fibrocystic disease.
