realize this is an old thread - if you’re still checking it - but, I too have problems with finasteride… big ones… I wrote about it and argued against its use other than for prostate protection …

I had “similar” problems - but not as drastic.

I “cured” (harder erections, significantly increased sperm production and higher testosterone levels) my own using

a.) t4 at full replacement dosage …in my case 150mcg-200mcg/s day – this took me some of the way back, better erections and better sperm production (250testosterone levels before and 400after) … BUT - during finasteride use I developed HYPOTHYROIDISM (not saying it is DIRECTLY connected to but, damn it WHAT a coincidence at 34 !!) so perhaps this is why the t4 helped.

and for a completely UNKNOWN reason (not one I can explain medically)

b.) after an injury I took Dexamethasone - ONLY for 5 days - but, once I stopped, within a week my erections were GREAT and after retesting my testosterone levels were great (700)… I started growing again naturally, and felt great…

Cannot explain it … but, this is my experience

there is no simple answer…

it depressed my test production more than I expected …

taking t4 restored it … but going OFF t4 reversed the gains…

I had been borderline Hyperthyroidal (meaning HIGH thyroid function) … once on finasteride I became borderline hypothyroidal (meaning fucked thyroid) … so I have to stay ON t4.

are they NECESSARILY related ?? can’t “prove” it … but they came ONE after the other.

way later I also went on some cortisol due to some injuries - when I came off (couple of weeks) my test production SHOT UP …

and… one thing’s for sure … taking exemestane keeps my test production high high…

no one can LINK them … to make perfect sense … I have read 50 abstracts, spoken to minimum 10 doctors…

somewhere between the thyroid, gonads, adrenal glands (maybe) — something CHANGED and not for the better…

for me t4 and exemestane keep my testosterone high with no side effects … but, without they go down and bad things “happen” (tired, weaker…)

Nice work Vince. So, this guy has to take T4 and Dexamethasone to feel good now, right?

I have taken both. The T4 seemed to give me hyperthyroid symptoms, while the Dexamethasone made me feel great in general but did not improve sexual symptoms.

how long did you use DM? re sensitization of receptors takes time.

So then he didn’t recover? He’s currently still taking those two?

1 week and 2 weeks and a couple of other times. It made my skin look amazing and made me very hyper active.

yes based on my personal exp with Vit D3 it took me few weeks before seeing positive effects.

Here is another email he sent me----

I actually took dexamethasone … for injuries … 1mg tabs … 2/3/2/2 (so 2/day means one tab every 12 hrs, and on second day 3 tabs one every 8hrs)… what was amazing, was that after stopping dexa - my libido (temporarily) shot up … including sperm production …

exemestane is a perm inhibitor …non reversible …and some studies show it is actually benefic to bone density as opposed to other non-steroidal estrogen inhibitors…

I take x-n (that’s what I call it) 25mg (a tab) every day … I have taken it every OTHER day, and that worked fine too … but, every day works great… I buy the Balkan Pharmaceutical product - it is a lot cheaper than the american/german equivalents … a 60tab box runs 60euros.

t4 - I have LOTS of tests done - I was “in-range” but at the low limit of t4 … but my tsh was at high – in other words, my thyroid couldn’t keep up with demand… I am 100kg and at 200mgs t4 /day it was too much – at 150mg /day (6am prior to food/drinks) my tsh is sub 1 (perfect) and my t4 is in-range but at max range …

the T4 also had a positive effect on my test …

if you are on test now … your own production of test (endogenous) is either low or non-existent … you need to try to get it going again… HCG shots (low dose 3/4 times per week) … exemestane … anything to get it going again…

no problem…

it goes up when I’m on Xn goes down if I run out :slight_smile:)

but, in my case, I’m partly to blame for letting my weight go up … if I trim down the libido goes UP UP UP…

sorry, I don’t check often…

try test suspension - 29 gauge needle - 1/2 inch - directly into “fat” of stomach - once a day 50mg … works great… about 1 hr before workout…

use aromasin while on test - otherwise horrible results

I am on nothing right now – had operation 1-2 months ago (back) and need to take months off… feeling pretty good though - wish I had no appetite .

I have been trying a lot of stuff recently, i got a AI called erase. It worked ok for a bit of time but then I lost all the good effects. I started test prop because people said it produces less estrogen than the other types of test.

It was ok for about 2 weeks but the I started to feel bad. Like I am not hungry can hardly eat anything. This is the same thing that happened on test e but after about 1 week.

no, t4 is, unfortunately, probably forever… I can go without but I feel like shit, and it would overrev my thyroid.

back is due to accidents … starting when I was 20 … and then aggravated …

I used exemestane 25mg every day with 50mg test suspension - nice binding with SHBG leaves loads of free test AND irreversible with estradiol… always with HCG shots to keep balls alive… I used low dose 20mg split in two doses oxandrolone to keep tendons healthy with it…

the test suspension I always FELT about 30mins to 1hr after taking … gave a real boost in the gym…

this year I am “resting” … we’ll see next year… trying to keep body-fat reasonable… not “objectionable”.

Yes I agree,

I think the aromosin must be spiking up my free test and that puts more pressure on the conversion to estradiol. So then I end up with more estradiol.

Do you have an email that you check more often that I can talk with you?

What happened to your back? Do you think it wwas related to this fin issue?
