Post from the topix website.

As many of you are probably already aware here is another site where people have been posting about finasteride side effects, no big deal in that but I found some interesting posts on there like this one:

I think its interesting because we really dont have a whole lot of older men posting on here I think I may have seen several in their 40’s and a few in their 50’s but a senior citizens who took it for BPH is something different, it angers me his attorney didnt take his case because of his age. In a way its almost worse for him to get taken seriously by his doc’s because of his age, a 67 year old saying fina caused his ED is less likely to get a reaction than a 22 year old saying the same thing.

man never gets old. I really mean that.If some old man has low sexual drive it might be because of other reason, most probably from medicines. The common thinking that old age means no sex, is a lie created by pharma companies to hide the sides of their drugs. All the old men ( in their late sixties) I know of, have normal sex drive. I know personally one old guy ( 65+ year old and a drinker) has sex almost daily.

I absolutely agree. My dad is 62 and he has a one year old baby (with his second wife). My granpa died at 69 of cancer. I clearly remember him making jokes about how the chemo had killed his sex drive. When you travel to the country here in Brazil, to small poor towns, it is very common to see older men (60s and even 70s) who are on their second or third marriages and have young children, even babies. If you have a good diet, and you get to 60 without having had heart disease or high blood pressure (or taken propecia!), your sex drive will be fine.
I love USA, i lived there for a few years, forgive me my fellow american friends but i need to make a criticism about this. I think there has been a brainwash, in USA, to what are normal standards of being healthy. That makes me very sad. The diet of the average american is almost all processed, has too many chemicals, too much fat and sodium. After 40 years of eating all that crap, the poor guy has developed diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease or is close to have one of those. People don’t cook at home anymore. My sister worked as a nanny for a family who feed their toddlers with microwavable processed food every day. The only homemade food the children had ever eaten was the one my sister cooked. The food industry, has massified the idea that this is perfectly normal. The “on the go” mom, that needs everything ready to serve. The health system, instead of focusing on prevention and educating the people, has taken advantage of the situation to sell pills. After 40, 50 years living like this, there is no sex drive that survives! But the health system is again taking advantage of this situation, and saying this is all normal, so they can sell Viagra. This is clear to me, because i could compare what i saw in both places. Why does my grandma (86 years old) takes two daily pills, has never developed diabetes, and my old neighbor in USA was on almost 15 different medications, and needed a oxygen tube to go out? It is not genetics, we are all human beings. Why is the number of smokers going down in so many countries, and in USA so many young people smoke? It all comes down to greed. The government has made the option to favor the profit, no matter what. It can change! Here the government took the stand against the cigarette industry about 10 years ago. As a result, now less then 15% of the population smokes, and the number is going down fast. Please don’t forget what is normal. I was outraged every time an american doctor suggested i was losing my sex drive because of getting old and not Propecia (i am 33).

Totally agree on age & sex drive. My dad is 65 and has a raging sex drive, morning erections daily, etc.

^Well said and spot on IMO.

I cant agree more with correiovip. Common man in Canada, USA etc is completely brain washed. if finasteride had been discovered in Afghanistan, the whole media would would be screaming about its side effects, fabricating far fetched stories in the news papers but since there is no political gain or oil involved they are quiet.
I was totally idiot and brainwashed as well when I started saw palmetto. My wife and one friend told me not to take it but I argued with them.I told them it is impossible in these countries to put any thing on the shelves which may cause you any harm. Now I know how idiot I was. Needles to say I have thrown out even Tylenol, asprine etc from my house. I have lost confidence in western health system.
My own brother who is a doctor, initially argued with me but after seeing our website and how I deteriorated over time, his views are totally changed.

I agree and that’s pretty much easy to understand since the USA is the number one country in food export.
