Penile numbness has anyone recovered?

Did your erection girth and length temporarily recovered 100%? But the sensivity was still less? Did hardness and firmness of erection was also pre-pfs?

Am i understanding correctly? @MerckDheart

Can you be more spesific, and scientific🙏 Danke.

I’m still struggling with this badly. Who
The fuck knows what it’s is? Nerves? Brain connection? Receptors? What?
I never thought this would be my life
It’s slowly getting worse
The only thing Incan think of is stem cell therapy and other novel interventions
Idk what to do anymore

We just have to promote awareness and get earnest research started.

If half the energy we’ve put into fretting and googling herbs had gone into advocacy for research instead, then we’d know what the condition is by now, and treatment would be relatively straight forward.

Until we change our approach, we can expect the same results of the past – none. As soon as we do, we can expect a cure relatively expeditiously.

I’ve had several nerve tests done which found no irregularities whatsoever. It’s not nerve damage.

Yes in my opinion it is in the brain. If you have ever taken an SSRI, just on a pill by pill basis you can feel dramatic variation in numbness. That wouldn’t be possible if it was nerve damage.

Not sure if I understood you correctly.
Are you saying your penile numbness was alleviated while on an SSRI?

SSRIs cause numbness acutely for a lot of people who take them. It’s used to treat PE because of this. It feels similar in nature to the numbness you get from PFS (although it’s not as intense).

It can be intense enough to cause complete inability to orgasm. If I recall correctly something like 65% of people on SSRI suffer some degree of diminished sensation (i.e. numbness). Many become anorgasmic. Almost all seem to return to normal after cessation of drug. Some don’t and that’s called PSSD. Same story as finasteride and isotretinoin, though SSRI seems to cause the numbness most.

I think I could’ve worded that better. I had some numbness from taking SSRIs that didn’t wear off after I stopped taking it (I couldn’t finish from just penetrative sex), but for me, it wasn’t anywhere near as intense as what happened after I took Finasteride.

my numbness recovered in a few weeks after discontinuing fin/dut

it just another thing that depends on each individual.

some folks have recovered from anhedonia

a lot of us havent

Are you talking ‘numbness’ in the most literal sense of the word or do you have actual genital pleasureable sensation?

I use the word “numbness” like “blindness” – there are varying degrees of “numbness” much like people can have “blindness” without being completely blind. It’s diminished sensation. In my case, dick feels dildo-like even though not completely numb. Still possible to have sex to completion but not very pleasurable and actual sensation feel minimal.

What about facial numbness?
GI motility and numbness?
Paralysis?
This seems to be more systemic then just penile numbness.

It used to feel like rubber

Now it feels normal

Wow that’s really interesting! I have had the same exact experience as you and have not seen anyone else comment something like this. Coffee has consistently improved some symptoms for me- specifically brain fog and other mental symptoms like anxiety. Coffee has occasionally increased my libido and given me some increased sensation in my penis and more pleasurable “sexual” type feelings in my brain. Like I could start to have sexual fantasies that would feel good to think about and would lead to erections.

I have had similar experiences when taking protein shakes that have creatine. A change in the sensitivity of my penis and libido.

I agree from my experiences and the long term improvements I’ve had that most of what we experience can be reversed.

Yep, recently I discovered that I feel better after drinking coffee too.
My doc who has done research about PFS said that in some people (10-15% of using finasteride) fin blocks 5-alfa-reductase type III in the brain and it is long process to restore it to normal levels.

That’s great to hear it works for you too! Have you noticed any of the same positive effects from drinking other types of caffeinated beverages or just from coffee? So far I have only noticed the improvements from drinking coffee so was maybe thinking it was something other than specifically the caffeine. I have also seen that research and would guess what we’re noticing would have something to with coffee affecting the neurosteroid levels or interacting with certain receptors in the brain or something like that… I’m no doctor though haha

Did u recover fully ?

fully from what? all symptoms? no

just penile numbness

Numbness Seems to be the single thing I have not made progress with in 2 years! Congrats.
Once I recovered full sensitivity for 1/2 day with butyrate + bhb + intermittant fasting but could not reproduce that outcome later
