Stay off of it. Going back on fin will only screw your system up even more. Side effects often resolve within 2 weeks, but it’s different for everyone. It took me 5 months to recover (from 2 doses), some people take years, and some people have yet to recover.

You may be in for quite a roller coaster of ups and downs, so brace yourself for it, and talk to your girlfriend about it instead of trying to hide it from her, it’ll drive you insane otherwise.

The depths of how horrible this condition can be are extremely deep, much worse than simply erectile disfunction. You may simply get lucky and your body recovers in only 2 weeks, but be prepared for it to take even longer.

And to reiterate, do not take any more finasteride. Going back on it won’t return your body to the state it was in while it was still on it. Once your body freaks out with either coming on or coming off the drug (and the crash probably would have come sooner or later even if you stayed on it), your system gets knocked way out of balance and needs time to figure itself out. Taking the drug again will only mix it up even more.

Thanks. Im really into working out so after I noticed this I went to the gym immediately to see if getting my blood pumping would do some good, felt suprisingly strong and lifted a bit heavier than usual following a 3 mile run.

I’m already looking into taking some Post Cycle Therapy / Natural Test boosters to try to nudge my body back into a healthy libido and utilizing healthy test. levels…

Started taking some Tribulus and going to get ZMA supplement.

I noticed that alot of ppl on this forum say they had low Vit-D levels and I recently had bloodwork for a routien physical and I also had low Vit D levels and so I got some Vita D3 pills that my doctor recommended (this is when I was still taking fina)

I’m also thinking about getting a natural test booster

So it is normal for a natural drop in test and maybe some ED for 1-2 weeks after discontinuing finasteride? But most recover after 2 weeks?

Just trying to figure out whats normal…Say you been taking this and you quit, its normal to get low test and ED for two weeks and normal for it to balance out after 2 weeks?

God I hope Im going to be a normal case and in two weeks I can report back here and say that things are better…

Rather than worrying and spamming countless threads, why not relax, take a break from this site, and re-evaulate in the coming 2 months where you’re at.

The vast majority of men recover within weeks or months after quitting the drug. If things do not improve, or you find they rapidly go south, then you should consider this forum for further discussion.

In the meantime, it would be advisable to get bloodwork done per list at top of HORMONES section to see where things are at Post-Finasteride thus far. This will come in handy should you need to compare tests in the future.

So to give an update:

The following day I started taking tribulus and I came home from work and was able to masterbate very well. Like I didnt have any problem, next few days was the same, so i thought my hormones had leveled out and it prob was just a rebalancing of hormones

Then I got my prescription and since I figured I’d never had any side effects in 5 years I’d best start taking it again…I figured that my body had just reacted like this because it takes awhile to level out…Plus, I fear not taking propecia and losing alot of my hair. Even though I dont think I gained much over 5 years, I actually have thinner hair than 3,4,5yrs ago, I felt like I have maintained a decent head of hair.

So…I started taking the Propecia again along with Tribulus & Multi-V…

She ended up noticing the ED problem from 2 weeks ago and even was bold enough to ask me about it!! So embarrasing, she basically asked me if I have problems like that regularly, how my sex life had been with past-gfs etc. I told her the truth that I inadvertently stopped taking it for 2 weeks and it must of contributed to a drop in some hormone that hadnt leveled out yet, but I started taking it again and everything is back to normal. I never had sides with any other gfs and always have been pretty decent in the sack, no complaints…

I also went and bought some Horny Goat Weed & GNC’s staminol because Im a bit paranoid about preforming again bc she said that she likes to have alot of sex and her last bf and her had a great sex life and she sorta expects that in the next guy…

So, anyways its been like 12-14 days since Ive been taking Propecia again…I noticed again that my penis is not getting as hard when I jackoff, i have trouble getting it up when watching porn, feels detached again, limp, etc…

So now Im back to where I started…I think I better just quit this drug and hope for the best, that I return to normal over the next month or so…

I should prob. tell her, “look i started back up and im noticing some sides again, so I think im going to just quit for good & i understand if you dont wanna continue this…or you can wait around and we can see what happens”

Best advice I and others can give is to stop playing with fire.

Quit the drug for good and give your body a chance to recover, but do not bother posting here if you plan to continue taking it.

So just to update. Its been 10 days that I havent taken propecia and I can say so far Ive been doing really good, havent had any ED, penis seems alot fuller, my balls randomly tingle throughout the day some, been able to have sex back to back 3x in a row, girl has def. noticed an improvement as have I. Hope I dont crash.

Hope my hair doesnt fall out very bad, ive noticed one day where my hair shed a bit, my scalp had tingled all day and when I went to take a shower I had a pretty nasty shed. Other than that no major hair loss yet.

You should be happy, if your hair starts falling out again in a faster pace. That indicates you’re healthy again.

Just wanted to give an update. Hair still seems to be hanging in there pretty good, got it cut pretty short, thinking about using some Rogaine to help on the temples and I bought some nizoral.

As far as the libido/ED; pretty good morning wood but I’ve noticed that Ive been ejaculating very quickly when masterbating, and the last time I had sex I was unable to control my ejaculation as I came within the first 3 minutes :frowning:

Sometimes Ive noticed that I’ll ejaculate before my penis even gets entirely hard. Feel like its taking a bit longer to get hard and requires a bit more concentration to get it there.

I take Tribex (tribulus), multi-V, Vit-D3, ocassional horney goat weed, need to be more diligent about taking this regularly.

Why the fuck would you start taking this poison again after you realize how much it affects your hormones and sex life??? Do you really care about the hair that much? I keep hoping mine will fall out.

martinM, to my knowledge he’s no longer on Finasteride. He was just making the observation that he hasn’t noticed much hair loss since quitting.

I was referring back to when he started taking it again in March after developing ED after stopping it the first time. I see that he’s stopped again. Sorry I’m a little late on this thread. It just amazes me again and again how people are so desperate to keep their hair that they will do almost anything…including taking a pill that obviously makes the penis no longer function…

So, confession to make…This might anger alot of people but it shouldn’t i needed to do this to have peace of mind…

Anyways, I stopped taking and everything had seemed pretty back to normal down there, at least alot better than the state I was in in my original post and the week following.

I was able to get really solid errections, have libido, get horney with a girl, dick felt full, morning wood, etc…

So then I started thinking…ok im fixed, maybe i just needed to level out, maybe i just need to take a lower dose…I read about some people taking ~.25 - .5mg and not experiencing sexual sides, so I tried that…I’ve been taking ~.5mg for about 10 days now and for the last 2 day’s my penis hasnt felt like its hanging as heavy, long, no morning wood and havent been feeling the normal urge to jackoff before falling alseep…which is something i usually do.

so I got home, “tested” myself, watched porn def had trouble getting it up (which shouldnt happen) eventually got it up but the base was again not really tight enough to keep it from feeling a bit floopy…had pretty wattery semen too…size of penis never really got to “max”, prob was like 75% of the size i can get to…girth def seems thinner…

so shit, i know im stupid but i was praying that a smaller dose would be the cure…

so im quitting again…throwing out my pills this time…praying that im back to normal like earlier this month.

dont kick me off this forum, i know im stupid but view me as an example to those considering this and very attached to their hair…plus i keep a running journal…

The body is a living thing it changes over time, the fact that i took this med for 6 years without a problem and then started to have a problem made me hold on to the hope that i could find a solution…Maybe i just needed to lower my dose as my body had become saturated? Maybe i just needed to cycle off for a month then get back on? Everyone’s body is different and so I wanted to test out taking a lower dose before just quitting for the rest of my life…

Plus, the fact that I appeared to recover pretty decently after quitting for a month gives me some confidence that starting back up on a lower dose and then if I had to quit (which i did) I’d recover again…Idk it was worth the shot in my opinion, I dont have a girlfriend right now so I rather “troubleshoot” this issue now than when I do.

But, I did throw away my 5months worth of pills yesterday down the trash shoot so…I’ll keep posted on how I improved, started up again on the tribulus, horney goat…might start a natural test booster to get back to peak levels

Now’s probably a bad time to learn that it has a flat-dose response, meaning small doses such as .25mg inhibit just as much 5ar2 as 5mg.

Its really weird. I have been suffering and dealing with the same exact problem for a while now. And been doing research all over the internet and this is like the first time I actually found a post describing exactly what I have dealt with. I had a delay in getting fin as well and I took it for 5 years before. NEVER had any sides while being on it, was always horny, felt great and healthy. But when I was forced to stop taking fin things got outta control, penis wouldnt get as hard,libido totally disappeared, from one day to another, just like that. Penis felt smaller, lenght and girth, could masturbate but it was just not as hard/as big. I freaked out. And I still am because its been 1 1/4 years. Immediately after I started again because thats what humans do, I wanted to go back to normal and I thought I was good on it, I am in bad shape without it, so I am gonna take it again. Took it for 10 days after stopping for like 3 weeks. Then shortly after that I recovered for like a week, everything was great and then I totally crashed. (I still sometimes think I should get back on it again, I have the weird feeling I am better on it)

So ever since then I can remember like 3-4times I was really horny. Most likely after a night of heavy drinking and not masturbating for a few days, once was really crazy…its hard to explain but I was sitting on the couch and then in my head something popped I knew it right away. I stood up and felt like the horniest I have felt in years. So sudden. I had to masturbate and all feeling was back. That was for like 2 days. Then going numb again. I am really numb right now down there.I can masturbate but only enjoy the last bit when the orgasm is brewing up. Its been like 14-15 months since I took the last pill and things have not been going back to normal. Though, the few times where I was really horny and could get a hard good erection make me believe there is cure. Its still inside me, the solution, its not all gone. By the way, i often get morning wood, not totally rock hard but its there. Actually, the crazy thing: I get morning woods more often now being off it then being on it. But I had more libido while on it and could get harder and was bigger. Its weird. Maybe it just needs more time. Anyways, just thought I share my opinion, cause most people have problems on it then quit and then recover or not. With you and me, it seems to be different. We were good on it and our problems started after stopping. Anybody else experienced that? Well I just registered to post and I’ll check back. Cheers guys.
