Hey everyone I’m 24 years old and was told to take finsasteide 1.25 mg every day to combat my hair loss. I started a week ago and just yesterday noticed my testicles having s tickling type feeling so I have stopped taking the pill it’s been two days now . I am just wondering if i am screwed for life is there a chance I can make out it fine from this … I am new to this as I have just stumbled across this page … I already have anxiety and panic attacks from previous and all the stuff I’m reading is causing me to freak out and lose sleep .
Chances are you will be perfectly ok. Coming here on this site and hearing our horror stories in no way is going to help you, I promise. The best thing you can do is tapper off propecia and if your really serious about preventing a crash take serious care of yourself for the next couple of months. That means no drinking alcohol and getting drunk. No masturbation. These are things that have possibly contributed to a crash for some of us when coming off propecia.
You need to treat your body as well as possible physically as well as emotionally and that includes not freaking out and panicking. That does nothing of any good. Seriously, stop worrying, take serious care of yourself and I’m sure you’ll be fine. The truth is no one here can give a 100% guarantee but odds are you’ll be just fine.
Yeah my anxiety is thru the roof… I had troubles getting it up yesterday for the first time but eventually I did think maybe I was just freaking out. I am very scared though.
Feeling the brain fog and lower libido now … Balls ache is getting better tho my anxiety is really bad as I already had suffered from anxiety previously
Very scared and frightened that I’m going to be screwed for life
Feeling sick/ headache a bit and foggy feeling. Also feeling tired/lazy balls feeling a bit better still having the tingling feeling…
New victims are still taking this shit in 2015???
Wholly crap!!!
Thought everybody was bright enough to not touch this stuff. It’s a killer
The Internet is littered with a wealth of information now on Propecia
Your just going out of your way to be rude to this guy. Why comment if your not going to help? Just to show off your bad attitude.
Of course people are still taking it, its being prescribed to millions over the world. People have a tendency to trust their Doctor and for some reason Dr’s haven’t come around by and large to seeing the potential dangers.
When you started taking the drug in 2010 all you needed to do was a simple google search yourself and the first result would have told you the possible consequences. I know because I was around back then. There was pretty much as many resources back then on the internet as there are now talking about the dangers. So who are you to look down and judge.

Don’t panic… its very early yet… its quite likely any symptoms you have will resolve in the upcoming weeks/months. Many people experience side effects but they do not always persist for long periods of time. Best of luck
Friend, do the following immediately to recover and follow each and every step!
- No Caffeine ever!
- No Alcohol ever!
- No masturbation ever (even if you feel your sex drive coming back, wait a few months for your body to fully bounce back)!
- No foods with any added sugar/fructose/glucose
- No junk food
- No processed food
- No soy
- No bread
- Eat lots of green vegetables (spinach, kale, broccoli)
- Eat a good amount of beef or lamb 1-2 times a week
- Lift weights no more than 30 minutes at a time, 3x times a week (so you don’t extinguish your androgen hormones). Tip: Squats are good for improving androgen response.
- Get lots of rest
- Meditate (close your eyes, empty your mind, shut-off your thoughts, scan the feelings in your body from head to toe, examine feelings of anxiety in the body and wait until it goes away, monitor the stress levels from a scale of 0 to 100, regularly rescan your body for the feeling, eventually you’ll hit 0-5 then open your eyes you’re done meditating, if it’s your first time it may take over an hour)
- Take a B-complex vitamin under your tongue (B vitamins don’t get absorbed well in the stomach) if you want an extra boost
- Go to the Doctor to get tested for hormones and thyroid
- Stay away from pharmaceuticals!
The best advice anybody here can offer is for you to take a break and not come back to this forum unless you have symptoms that persist for at least 2-3 months. A good amount of people who get side effects recover in a reasonable amount of time but that isn’t the case for people here. There is no need to cause yourself undue stress and unfortunately not much you can really do in either case.
Stay active, be healthy, and give it some time. Nobody here will recommend you continue or go back on Propecia. Chances are good you will recover and good luck.

Lots of guys recover and have never even been to this website so you’re ahead of the game. Wish I’d been as smart as you and figured stuff out early. No one can say you will recover but you have stopped things early and have as good a chance as anyone of getting out of this mess. With only a few days on the drug hopefully there’s no lasting damage and you collect your get out of jail card. If we could go back most of us would have just gone bald and accepted that path rather than this hell ride. Hopefully you don’t make the same mistake twice, give up on messing with hormones and accept your hairloss. GL
