Looking for a place to start...

Has he ever heard of TRT with HCG? Jeesh I hate urologists. Basically they just want to cut and not think things through.
Didnt you see Jacobs? Jacobs would definately put you on TRT if you wanted.

Brad, have you ever been on clomid? Would be interesting to see how you did on low dose clomid for a few months. Looks like your LH and FSH can come up a bit. But hard to tell since they are pulsatory. I’ve had LH and FSH levels so high I thought I was going into testicular failure only to have them correct by next lab. You could always get some armour or clomid online if you wanted. I tried the clomid w/t3 thing and did nothing for me, but who knows. Might be the trick for you.

I made an appointment with Jacobs, but had to back out because of the lab costs. Hopefully I will be flush enough soon to see/talk to him.

I like the clomid idea. I am making an appointment with a doc in my HMO that actually is a DO and has an anti-aging clinic believe it or not. Maybe they will be able to help with clomid, HCG, TRT, etc.

Yes, push for the clomid for sure. Low dose over extended time. Not sure whats going on with your circulation. Are you on any other meds? Do you smoke? Stay away caffeine since it constricts your blood vessels. I think the thyroid angle is overblown but who knows.

btw- I supplement with DHEA. It seems to help my mood but no changes physically or sexually. Couldnt hurt to try that.

Will certainly consider clomid. Not sure about circulation, my primary doctor said it was fine in an exam a month ago. No other meds and no supplements either.

I don’t smoke or drink. I do drink some diet soda though.

I might try the DHEA again. What is your dose? I tried 10mg once and it made me feel good at first, then I felt terrible for like 3 days after.

Update…

So I changed Urologists. I am now seeing one over at the University of South Florida Advanced Healthcare, and they seem much more competent and up to speed. They prescribed 25mg of Clomid EOD and some penis injections for erections. Oh the joy… Kind of humiliating experience, but at least it wasn’t like the other Urologist who said “You have plenty of Testosterone” and “Take some DHEA and see if you feel better in 6 months”. Said I had other options like HCG and later Testosterone replacement if these don’t help at all.

He also said that alot of his patients seem to feel much better on TRT than Clomid even when Clomid hits the same T levels, but obviously the fertility issues are of a concern to me. So I figured I’d give it a shot.

I don’t expect anything, but this is my first chance to even try to raise my low T and Free T levels that I have been given.

BTW, DHEA as a mono-therapy blows. It gave me headaches and my prostate seemed to swell a little, but not much else.

Brad, you NEED to get a 24 hour cortisol test done. You are hypothyroid, low free T = not enough thyroid hormone getting into your blood stream. I suggest you focus on that instead of Clomid. Clomid is very safe though, but its not the answer.

I agree, I need another doctor to address that issue though. The one’s I currently have think my thyroid is perfect. My cold hands and feet would say otherwise.

Most docs are clueless about thyroid hormones, and its the same with endos… go to Stopthethyroidmadness.com and find a doctor in Florida that is close to you. You should also use that site to educate yourself. You will need a 24 hour cortisol 4 sample test, to see if your adrenals are fatigued. My guess is that they will be.

this link should help educate you more on your thyroid hormones as well…

thyroid-info.com/articles/woliner.htm

It helped me understand them real well, but you need a 24 hour cortisol test… thats more important.

youre doc said you have plenty of testostrone? you have under 400, what the hell was he thinking? you should be 600+

I will research that, thanks man. I totally agree with you bro. Any advice or other points of knowledge are welcomed here.

My Total T has about doubled since I’ve been off Fin. And that was without clomid or TRT of course. I think some others have had the same experience. So, hopefully over time yours will too.

Been off about 8 months and total T just keeps getting lower. Started in the upper 600’s and now down below 400. Free T has been low out of range each time hovering around 7-8pg/ml.

I know, the new doc says he has guys in the upper 500’s with hypogonadal symptoms as bad as mine. I don’t have much faith that boosting T will solve all my problems, but I’m sure it can’t hurt to at least get into somewhat more normal ranges.

I think you’re right. Boosting T probably won’t do anything else you get into the super physiological ranges. My native T doubled since quitting Fin and I’m still hypogonadal. I’m going to be starting high dose TRT soon, should be interesting if I get a total T score around 4000 and still have full sides.

Doctor said that ED can’t really be corrected with more androgens. Different mechanism apparently. He also said he didn’t exactly know why, but exogenous T made guys feel much, much better than raising endogenous levels via clomid and hcg. Can anybody comment as to why that is?
