Hey Guys,
Hopefully this isn’t a retread, but I know someone here had commented on the possiblity of Liver damage with Proscar use. I have recently consulted with a local acupuncturist of high repute and he stated quite strongly that in his experience, a lot of medications have deteriorative effects on the liver primarily.
It makes sense. When you think of all of the sides we’re all experiencing, they are in line with not only androgen deprivation, but also with the kind of effects you get with scirrosis, fatty liver or aquired liver problems:
Sexual dysfunction (particularly libido and testicle shrinkage):

Bone loss (which I’ve had confirmed by my dentist):

Perhaps it’s a combination of both. But since the liver is primary in breaking down medication, as well as many of the mechanisms of metabolization, this could be something worth looking into rather than ingesting/injecting more meds.
I know that many here will be rolling their eyes when I mentioned acupuncture, but at this point, what do we have to loose? I’m going on a series of treatments and I’ll keep you posted. This guy’s specialization is the liver and all associated disorders. Even if it only achieves a modicum of functionality, I think it’s better than a life on TRT that may or may not make any difference.
What do you guys think?
TB
