lack of growth hormone?

Is it possible that we lack growth hormone production? I conclude this since our skin atrophies and sometimes jaws too. If you look at patients who suffer from acromegaly, meaning excess of growth hormone, their symptoms include increase in skin thickness and increase and jaw bone.

what do you think?

Yes my endo said I had low growth hormone.

Because of this she wants me to have a glucose tolerance test done.

Mark - what did your endo test to determine this, and do you have the results at hand?

During my last blood work my igf1 level was tested, and although I was told that everything’s fine, I’ve always felt that it is on the low side:

IGF1: Value: 135 Range: 65-350 Unit: ug/L

Unfortunately not my GP would not give me a copy of the letter the endo wrote.

When I saw my endo last month she said it was a possibility that I may have a tumor on the pituitary gland.

That’s a shame Mark. My own Doctor has no problem printing out anything that I ask for. What’s the position in Ireland with patient’s requesting copies of their own records?

At least your endo is considering that something may be wrong and willing to explore that.

Legally I should be able to get all my medical records but the GPs at my local clinic treat me like a child.

Peptides are a relatively cheap and effective way to elevate GH.

Must admit the discussion of bone loss has me worried so I’m currently taking Ipamorelin + CJC. This augments endogenous GH production.

Again - this wont alleviate PFS symptoms but is worth trying if you think you’re own GH is lower than optimal.

Is that by injection Danny?

I see that you’re in the EU/UK. Where do you get your supply from?

you can not draw a conclusion from this. If you want to find out if you lack growth hormone you need to do a day-profile, because growth hormone sekretion varies during the day. The value of 135 doesnt say anything, because it only reflects your level of growth hormone at that particular time of when you got your blood drawn. Its only one particular value of a particular time in the day, not an average. But the value at least is in the range still

Please insist on your doctor to give you the values. Its your right so, tell them its your right. I read that your jaw wastet away too… so there seems to be a correlation between low hgh and jaw loss.

Please ask your doctor again for the values. I will get my hgh checked too i think

I think our symptoms could be attributet to changes in growth hormones, probably lack of them…

People with overproduction of growth hormone have these symptoms, have a look:

Enlargement of the hands, feet and head - some of us have thinner hands here
Changes in facial features - jaw bone loss, cheekbone loss… also a few have reportet increase in bone mass here … bigger chin and brow ridge
Protrusion of the jaw - …
Excessive sweating - lack of sweat some of us
Tiredness and lethargy
Increased frequency and/or severity of headaches
Ear, nose (snoring), throat or dental problems
Thickening and oily skin thinning of the skin… no oil… dry skin
Enlarged thyroid gland
Enlargement of the tongue
Deepening of the voice
Joint stiffness, arthritis
Impaired glucose tolerance or diabetes
Tingling in the fingers and hands (carpal tunnel syndrome)
High blood pressure
Sleep apnoea (poor breathing at night leading to snoring and frequent waking)
Some loss of vision same on this forum, for example: night blindness
Irregular or absent periods
Erectile failure (‘impotence’) same
Reduced fertility
Decreased sex drive same

intresting… but how fin affect hgh?

… generally speaking, changes in hypothalamus/pituitary, because Hgh is produced in the pituitary.

I think medicine should be very interested in us, rather than avoiding us. Facial bone loss is not known as a medical condition… this should be interesting. I have reverse-acromegaly.

Growth hormone is very expensive and often times insurance will not cover it. This is an issue because most of us here are so damaged, affecting us financially. If you want a cheap, effective way to increase GH look into peptides first. There are the typical injectables but common protocol is to inject three times daily. There is though an oral GH secretogue called MK677 you can try. It has a half life of 24 hours so once a day dosing is sufficient. Problem is the long half life mimics female GH output, not males. But the clinical studies showed substantially elevated GH and iGF1 over a 2 year period with no loss of effectiveness so I think this peptide may be safe to try. Dedinitely do get blood work to make sure they are working though. Peptides are not Synthetic GH, they only make your own pituitary more efficient at releasing growth. Who knows, maybe our pituitaries were damaged from Fin as well. So verify with bloodwork if you decide to go this route.

My Growth Hormone is OK.
