Look back to where we stood 10 over years ago when I joined this forum, and then subsequently co-founded the PFS Foundation. Almost no doctors had heard about the Post-Finasteride Syndrome, and we initially did not have a single scientist on our side.
Compare that to where we are now. We have over 40 publications and a much better understanding of what’s going on. More is in the works, and I am hopeful that the Baylor publication will take us another huge step forward. The biotech tools are improving at the speed of light, with tons of research going into things like CRISPR, hybrid sequencing, and generally cost of those tools coming down rapidly. This whole AR overexpression theme is being looked at from various angles now, ranging from prostate cancer to endocrine disruptors, which will further help improve our understanding and possibly bring about therapeutic approaches.
Specially for young people, time is on your side. Also, do not underestimate your bodys’ ability to heal (I improved quite a bit over the years, and I am a bad case). Please give it more time, and do not take any decisions with a final an irreversible outcome. Please also consider the drastic effect such an action would have on your family and beloved ones.
Guys, please hang in there.
