Increasing estradiol anyone?

I would be curious to I know people’s estrogen to progesterone RATIOS. I previously wrote that several years ago I was diagnosed with a rare disorder called mal de debarquement, basically I felt like the boat I was on was rocking for months after I got off it. Leading researcher into mal de debarquement is starting to hypothesis an imbalance between estrogen and progesterone ratios in the brain may be responsible for this. I don’t know my progesterone but my estradiol was mid to low, yet I suffer estrogen dominance effects. Has anyone attempted to increase estrogen as i have read that increasing can up regulate progesterone receptors

The best thing to investigate the effects of Estrogen is to go on any MTF forum. just go there and get the info from number of people. What you get here is just people’s opinions.

Why would you increase estradiol when you’re having symptoms of estrogen dominance? Progesterone is an estradiol antagonist, so using progesterone may improve the symptoms. It did in my case, when I was experimenting with it. Increasing the estradiol level will make everything worse. I’ve been experimenting a lot with Arimidex, and I tried Estraderm patches to recover faster from overdoses. Bad idea… Symptoms improved initially, but I got hit pretty bad when the androgen/estrogen ratio turned in favor of estrogen.

Hey Enden, I have done a ton of research on this and found some information that you can actually be estrogen dominant with high progesterone levels/ratio. Basically high progesterone can desensitze or down regulate progesterone receptors thus having the effect of estrogen dominance. Many men on this site actually report high level of progesterone but we are all seemingly battling estrogen dominance. I spoke to a doctor, my brother, who indicated it was possible by blocking allopregnanlone production, you can acutally increase the levels of its precursor (progesterone). The imporoper ratio of progesterone to estrogen could theoretically be the culprit here.

How much progesterone did you use, and how did you administer? Also whay benefits did you get?

thanks

Does your brother have any suggestions in terms of how to fix it? Also, shouldn’t the brain/body have corrected the problem? People experience hormonal imbalances that the body corrects. Why isn’t the body fixing the problem in this case?

@dgreene, he doesnt and its not his area of expertise but he is talking in terms of basic biological function. In terms of brain/body balance, who really knows. It is extremely difficult to balance hormones without a potential neurological component. Keep your fingers crossed and pray that what Awor said about the Neurosteroids/neurotransmitter study is revealing good information. I honestly think in time there will be enough knowledge to at least help treat many of our symptoms. I feel different everyday. Some days brainfog and no sexual function, some days no brainfog and good function, somedays bloated and cold penis, some days warm penis with good erection and no bloating etc. I would think most of us have at least some fluctuations in symptoms which, my brother also said, is a very good indication that the right treatment can at least help. Hang in there everyone, I know this is crazy and extremely unfair with very little known about it. Why did it take a decade for my symptoms to appear when someone else got them on pill #1…and they are the exact same symptoms!! It is also helpful that awareness is increasing and media attention as well. There are going to be thousands and thousands affected by this. Many probably havent even attributed their hormonal changes with finasteride/propecia yet.
