I'm going back on Fin

Bad idea. We don’t know what’s going on to mess around like this.

Without the studies being completed we will never get to the bottom of this. We need these studies to identify targeted treatments. Best to devote the resources directly towards this.

It would not surprise me if a treatment protocol along these lines comes from the information gathered by the studies, however, it probably won’t be including Propecia and it will be much more detailed and tailored to our needs.

dudebro - please think really carefully before attempting this. Others have tried similar things before you, and the results have not been good. Also consider looking into the studies.

I would actually try this. Like I said in an earlier post, I had been discussing this EXACT same protocol with another victim recently. So its not like I am encouraging him to do something I would never do.

As far as the crash - part of the reason it was so bad for me was because I had no idea what was causing it. I felt like I was going crazy - it came out of the blue. Now - he will be able to brace himself since he knows he is likely to crash - it won’t be unexpected.

I really do think our cure will come from something along these lines.

What is the exact protocol? He just mentions Propecia and vaguely mentions other hormones.

Wouldn’t the goal be to AVOID a crash this time by doing the tapering off? Whether it’s expected or not, isn’t the crash bad?

I do see the thought process here, but I’m not sure we have enough information to iron out the details of how to do this correctly.

I don’t know. It is interesting. There has been speculation about a few different things lately that seem somewhat compelling to me. And I would likely NOT try anything like this until further research gave me the go-ahead, BUT isn’t there an obvious link between the conversion of DHT to T? It seems like some people (cdnuts, etc.) have either improved or recovered by playing with the balance on this one. Those who ONLY took T seemed to improve for a while, only to crash again. I think lowering DHT while concurrently raising T could potentially be beneficial.

ALSO - Didn’t most people get worse by raising DHT?

Also - everyone is knee-jerk reacting to the idea of him taking the drug again. Relax. It is his body. He is not telling you to take it again. All this will do is simply give us more information as to whether it is successful or not. (Though I don’t recommend anyone take the drug, if someone is willing to do this type of research, I’m not going to stop them).

There have been others who tried it and ended up much worse. Awor clearly stated many times that this is an easy way to worsen our condition, advising against using 5ar inhibitors to try to cure ourselves. So i highly doubt that the studies end up with something like this as a treatment.

Adam, you can’t be fucking serious. Explain why others have stopped taking the drug then restarted and crashed. Just ask Paul, the drug just picked up where it left off and finished him off. It’s like saying to him try dut. that will fix the problem. You are leading this poor guy down a road of pain. I really hope your joking.

Huh? I did not retake this drug after I had sides. Don’t know where you got that. I did have periods where I just didn’t take it for a while and restarted… But, I did not have sides during that time frame.

I wouldn’t restart it.

First of all, he POSTED this…it wasn’t my idea. I just think after some thought that a restart with a long period taper is something that might prove beneficial. Again- it’s his body and he has the courage to do try this on our behalf…

As for the other guys(Paul, etc.) that restarted, did they taper off Fin slowly?

Tapering off slowly will be really, really hard. Have you seen a chart of dht inhibition against dose? You don’t see much change until below 0.2mg.

This curve? imgur.com/GgATzF6

You actually see quite a bit of change after .2…its almost asymptotic!

I think if he went

1 mg --> 3 weeks
.5 mg --> 3 weeks
.25 mg --> 3 weeks
.125 mg --> 3 weeks
.0625 mg --> 3 weeks
.0375 mg --> 3 weeks

No one has tried this sort of long taper before…I know its going to suck. I know it. We all know. He seems like he has the courage to try it…and its a worthwhile experiment.

If you have a 1mg tablet, how do you get it to 0.0375mg without very sophisticated equipment?

0.03 is three hundredths of a gram.

That’s 1/375th.

:open_mouth:

Pharmacist should be able to help.

The Insomnia and cognitive issues this drug caused are equivalent to brain damage. Explain the facial and skin wasting that happens way after stopping. How in the world would taking more help.

Yeah, but the problem is the guy might not know what he’s risking. Let’s say he hasn’t been completely annihilated sexually, does he really want to risk that, along with permanent physical changes like twisted and shrinked dick? I’m not sure that knowing he was crashing would alleviate his predicament that much either. It seems a bit sophistical, as if you were trying to convince yourself he’s not risking much.

In a previous post, someone was mentioning this possibility of going back on the drug, but in the case someone would be so utterly fucked that he wouldn’t have anything to lose. Here people are saying “it’s his idea” or “it’s his body”, not even bothering to check if it’s an informed choice. There’s something wrong here.

Exactly. Seems like crazy talk considering what most of us have been through. I’m pretty sure if I kept taking the drug I would be dead. If I restarted I’m pretty sure I would finish off what I have left and it’s not much.

Where you at dudebro? I feel like you threw a grenade into the middle of the forum and ran off! Any thoughts on what’s been said?

Edit: Livingdead did make a good point. By doing this you could go from, “These sides are annoying and inconvenient,” to “I’m going to blow my head off now.”

Sorry man, I must have been thinking someone else here. I thought it was you because you had a similar nick here like he had… or maybe the pfs is slowly gnawing it’s way into my memory lol.

FYI, Read through this guys story… He went back on it. Crashed harder.
