How to quit finasteride? Only used for 4 days.

Hey guys,

I know this forum is only for people that still experience sides after quitting, but the hair loss forums don’t have good answers to my question.

I’ve been using fin for 4 days, but want to quit. I’m on .25 mg ED for the last few days. No serious sides but a moderate ball ache, that started on day 2 on finasteride. I’ve felt my testicles ache before finasteride but never with this intensity and for this duration.

I don’t feel comfortable on fin, even though I experience no serious sides just yet. I don’t want to risk anything.

How should I quit? Should I ween off? Or is it, at only 4 days in, best to quit cold turkey?

Really hope to hear you input.

I would stop ASAP… IMO tapering doesn’t make any difference. Ball ache was my first sign of trouble. I totally crashed 3 weeks later. Life will never be the same now.

Agree. Tapering off definitely doesn’t make a positive difference. On the contrary, it may tip you over the edge.

Finasteride is an irreversible inhibitor. It creates an enzyme complex that has a half-life of approximately 1 month, which means that your body should have replaced 50% of the enzymes after one month, 75% after 2 months and so forth. Finasteride is extremely potent, and even 0.05 mg has a profound effect.

You have only taken four pills, so fingers crossed you should be just fine if you quit the drug.

If I was you, I would get off the drug sooner rather than later.
The sooner you stop the better IMHO.
