How many of us have had a Colonoscopy?

interesting. It’s testing for inflammatory cytokines.

how many different types of inflammatory cytokines can we have our blood tested for ? any idea?

I was tested for inflammatory cytokines that are usually found in people with bowel disease such as crohns. My test was negative. Inflammatory cytokines has always sounded like a positive lead for PFS. Unfortunately we have not been able to find any evidence of them in our labs. Maybe we are looking for the wrong ones?

I’m not sure which cytokines should be tested in our case. I am getting a whole panel of tests done as I said before, including tests for pathogenic gut bacteria, adrenal tests, thyroid tests, urine metabolites, etc… I know that when I stray from my diet which I have done quite frequently in recent times (dairy, grains, alcohol) I start regressing, albeit slower than I used to. I won’t have a bowel movement in over three days! It just sits there. Metabolism slows down. Muscles atrophy. Everything starts regressing again. It’s a slow poison, certain foods that is. Therefore, I feel there must be some connection to the gut and I hope these tests will reveal something, whatever that may be. If the tests show up nothing then I am going to do a two week water fast and bite the bullet so to speak in going forth with a 6-8 week cycle of pro hormones and repeat until there is some kind of resolution. I can’t keep eating spinach and chicken for the rest of my life, I want to enjoy other types of food as well.

Good luck,

my experience is exactly the same. Still you sound like you are at a better baseline than I am on your better days but same thing for me. 2-3 days in a row of eating anything else or even lets say eating anything else 2 or 3 days in a 7 day period not even back to back all.of the same things happen to me.

Other than slow digestion though I have not been able yo find anything wrong with my digestive system. negative upper and lower endoscopy and no inflammation in colon.

most likely reduced bile production. 5ar actually is produced in digestive track.as well. Neurological damage from lower neurosteriod levels could probable play a role too.

health living gets me through and has helped me for sure. but unfortunately I have not replicated the full CDnuts results. I never did the fasting part though…only a 7 day juice fast. simply not enough. Maybe some day though ill.do a proper fast if time money and life lets me.

im also considering some high risk things such as injecting a 5ar enzyme or a new 5ar gene expression activator that i just found If i can get my hands on either. The older you get the more I can justify taking risks. that’s my logic anyway

A prohormone run is not a bad idea seeing that you never tried a full one. The potential is their. I would try the super R A n d r o OR Androsterone from I D E A L L A B S. I’m on the IdealLabs liquid Androsterone right now. It’s actually pretty good and I have not noticed the higher blood pressure feeling on it like I usually get from super R Andro.

Did you try the 5aDHP? you did for like a day right?

trying that at 5mg orally for longer may be worth a shot. Actually out of everything I have done I got the best results from my first 5adhp run in Feburary of this year. It took me to a new overall level.

I’m a bit late here, but for what it’s worth I had a colonoscopy ten years into PAS (twenty years ago), and it was clear. But, I had the most intense reaction to the bowel prep I was given beforehand. My symptoms are mental/nervous, and the bowel prep caused an intense kind of nervous agony in me. It felt like by clearing my gut, my issue was being provoked.

I might also add to this by saying that I once tried prebiotic fibre (Bimuno - a galacto oligosaccharide) thinking it might help me, and experienced a similarly intense negative nervous reaction. My conclusion (very amateur) was that both these things might indicate SIBO. Presumably SIBO will not show on colonoscopy, as it’s in the small intestine.

I’m fairly sure there is some connection to the gut, but not that it’s the whole picture.

I had one 1 year ago and 4 months after stopping propecia, everything good.

I’ve had a gastroscopy for reflux which I put down to pfs. Obviously not the same but still an endoscopy.

I had an endoscopy due to severe stomach pains about 4 years ago i couldn’t eat or drink properly for months ended up being rushed into hospital had a couple of scans and an endoscopy which revealed that my stomach was ulcers i was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis.

I guess with the symptom profile, specifically the change in bowel habit the docs were always gonna refer for a scope. Stool changes a red flag for bowel cancer.
