Please answer this… Take in consideration the side effects that made you quit propecia. How long did it take for the strong side effects that made you quit propecia to show up?
I am wondering what percentage of users would answer less than a year. Because the study to approve Propecia was a one year study.

for me It was 4 years before the real sides turned up,i noticed a very very small dip in erection strength and libido right from the start of taking fin,but these were barely noticeable,i still had a great sex drive over those four years then all of a sudden I crashed hard while still on the drug, that was 6 years ago…

I had mental sides after about 6 months (even though at the time I had no idea the mental problems were due to Propecia) - it was after a little more than a year on the drug that I first noticed genital numbness…and it was shortly after that moment that I took my last pill of the poison…all side effects went away for about a month and half - then they all came back with a vengeance…plus new ones like low libido…

i took 1/4 tab of generic 5mg finesteride for 12 days, which is a 1.25 daily dose. 6-7 days in the only change was the texture of my semen changed to a slight yellow tinge. i wasn’t alarmed as the dr who prescribed it said this would be the only change that would happen to my testicles and it would return to normal upon stopping. Exactly on day 12 I couldn’t achieve an erection, eventually after a very long time achieved a semi which was not maintainable. after a short time (i would call pre mature ejaculation) on orgasm i had bout 70% less semen on orgasm, semen was also watery and the feeling of an orgasm had 70% to 100% less feeling in the brain, I immediately realised this wasn’t for me and decided i wouldn’t take this the next day or there on. that night i had three severe twitches that immediately woke me up to 100% awake, this happened as my thoughts first turned to dream when i was trying to get to sleep. i also awoke several times throughout the night and couldn’t achieve my usual deep sleep. the next day the nightmare began of different, new and worse sides that continue to this day. so in short i would say 12 days.

Two weeks was all it took. Then three weeks later I lost all of my sexual functioning. At least for me it seems like the crash was a one time event, but I shudder to think how much longer it could take for me to get my sexual desire back. Its been almost ten months since I put that shit in my mouth and 8 since the crash. I lay awake at night and think that i am living a nightmare. But I have no other side effects. No weight gain, no fatigue, no brain fog.

Hang in there Bob, i remember feeling like that, thinking i was in a nightmare. You will feel better.

I felt bad/weak within few weeks of starting. slowly got fatigue everyday but no sexual sides. after six months I was having a lot of headache and fatigue but still no sexual sides I stopped SP and felt better for about one month.Started again and within one month first clear watery ejeculations and then suddenly felt my junk was shrunken and penis was lifeless like a feather or deflated balloon…It happened within 2 - 3 days or a week maximum. Since then I am like that. My testicle shrink more and more and when they do I feel pain in them. When I take Vitamin D3 they become slightly better but after 3-4 hours go back to their normal (now abnormal) state.

Within a week or so. I did notice the day before that my dick felt numb for some reason and I had anxiety for about an hour but didn’t take too much notice as I was busy… then the next day I crashed really bad and my life’s been on hold ever since. I’ve had pretty much every symptom. Mental ones have been by far the worst.

I got sides on day 2. Stupidly, I believed what I was told, that your body just needs to adjust and they go away if you keep taking it, so I finished my 3 month prescription. Maybe if I stopped then I would have been fine.
