Hormone Levels and PFS - IS there a Correlation

I ask this because I have reviewd the FAQ section which describes in detail the post finasteride syndrome and how the Sexual Side Effects (ED, Loss of Libido) occurs along with a sudden Endocrine System Crash with hormone levels reaching hypogonadal levels.

But from most members on here I have seen who suffer PFS, their hormone levels seem to be fairly normal. Many post hormone levels with good/normal Testosterone and good Estrogen etc…

Maybe I am missing or have overlooked but do most sufferers from the crash in fact have hypogonadal levels of hormones?

Not necessarily, like you noticed many people have normal hormones and some people have hormones that are altered in different ways. (some have high cortisol some have low)

Although by far many of us have low 3-Adol-G (and other low DHT metabolites) and low vitamin D.

Besides that everybody seems to react to the condition differently.

Myself, I have good test, free test, estrogen, and DHT. My cortisol is out of whack, so is my 3-adol-g and I have PFS pretty bad.

Sexual, and mental sides.

when i had very high testosterone i was completely impotent, now i have hypogonadal levels of testosterone and my erection is better, as far as libido is concerned it is exactly the opposite, now it is lower than when i had high testosterone and ridiculous erection.

So what gives!??!!

A lot of emphasis on this site to have hormone levels checked for users of propecia!! I have to believe there is some correlation. Why encourage people to have hormones tested if problems don’t coincide with out of whack hormone levels??

Dr. Crisler explains the problem… some guys end up with low/hypogondal Testosterone, others have normal T but have all the symptoms of hypogonadism (below range Testosterone) despite normal levels:

Thanks Mew.

So the blood tests aren’t doing any good really for the guys who suffer hypogonadal symptoms, since it doesn’t matter what your levels are?

Maybe it’s just good to get a baseline and at least “know” what they are for future reference…
