That’s a very important fact for people to keep in mind. The forum is not an accurate representation of recovery rate. Many people make a post and never return because they eventually got better. I’ve seen recovery stories elsewhere from people who were never on this forum in the first place. Look at 1750’s recovery on the recovery section, for example. He got better within a year but we didn’t know about it until 4ish years later, and only because someone prodded him into posting about it. He could have easily never posted again, like most do, and it would have looked like he never got better. I saw another thread on here linking to a recovery from another forum. That guy could have easily never randomly decided to post on that forum, and the person who linked it here could have easily never found it. I read another post by a guy who was still suffering, but said he was in contact with three people who recovered at 4, 6, and 12 months, none of whom are members here. In another post someone here mentioned a guy that worked out like an animal for two years and got better, again not a member here.
Looking at things this way gives me a lot of hope when I read about someone who took 8 pills and is still fucked years later. I always think “that’s going to be me, I’m screwed for life” but there are many people who got back to 100% or very close, we just may not know about all of them, or even most. Stay strong!
